You can’t kill a football club. Just saw an item on TV about Bury FC. The ground has been bought by the community and they are talking to Bury AFC about playing there. Up the Shakers.
As usual there is still some politics to resolve but hopefully the 2 rival teams can resolve any issues and have just the one club playing at Gigg lane for the 2023/4 season. Seems the women are already playing there though https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/bury-fc-afc-gigg-lane-24414101
Looks like there's a barnsley fc flag strapped to the gates on the lower right hand side amongst other clubs, anyone from on here maybe.
There shouldn't be any issues as far as the fans are concerned. There should be a concerted effort for the two groups to get together. No person is bigger than the club. And some will be ousted. Or given more minor roles. This has to come about imo. For the majority of fans and the town. Hope they get back to the league in the not too distant future.
Innit weird though and unfortunate as well, that two of the 'rival' sets of fans have had constant arguments with each other. But they are meant to be representing the same team, and surely they all want the same thing ?.
It's called egos. But the fact remains most fans will want a return to gigg lane. Not play outside the town. As Bury AFC do.
