I'll be odd one out, I fancy us to get into the top 6, reckon duff's got his eye on it aswell, we looked pretty decent against sheff United and we might just need 2 or 3 more signings. You reds.
Play offs. If we finish outside the top ten it will be a failure where questions will have to be asked again of board, management and players.
I’d say mid table obscurity, but it might all hinge on what happens with Styles and Helik. Definitely don’t have enough goals in the team to mount a top 6 challenge.
10th based on what we have now, and based on our pre-season performances. A creative midfielder has us challenging for the play-offs A creative midfielder and prolific goalscorer has us challenging for automatic.
Mid table I reckon. Anything better than that would be a bonus. Some tough games in L1. I’m quietly confident though that Duff can get them organised and all singing from the same hymn sheet, in-still abit of confidence and self belief. Let’s face it though, it can’t be that hard after last season’s absolute shambles. I’m certain we won’t have another cardboard cutout stood on the touch line that’s for sure.
Top 2 I just think duff is going to get best out of them. Hopefully they want to prove themselves after last season. Been a lot of comments about the positive attitude around ground since duff as come in. We’re definitely lacking up top and need a right back but I’ve got faith that will be sorted pretty soon
Expectation for me is top 10. Less than that I would consider not good enough. So the optimist in me is going top 6.
Some fancy supercomputer has us down for 4th. No doubt someone else has shared this on another thread, but hey… https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...nd-bolton-ahead-of-opening-day-3781595?page=6
I'll buck the trend and say automatic promotion. This lot will surprise us all. The shirkers will be found out pretty quick and we will use more of the young uns as cover. If i'm still asleep at 4 shake hard, if not hard make it so.
Finishing place of 10th. However, I can see us having a rocky start, particularly in the first 8 fixtures which will put paid to us being in the running for promotion for the majority of the season. We'll need to stick with Duff and watch the lads grow and gain confidence. A canny January and I think we'll hit play-off form in the spring with a slow start preventing us from getting enough points on the board to make the top six. Personally, I'd be happy with a few big home wins, seeing players develop over the season and a team that sweats for the shirt and understands the club. Getting back to being a football club basically. Connell, Cadden and Anderson contenders for Player of the Season. Kitching and Kane for Phoenix from the Flames award. And one of Wolfe, Marsh or Jalo to make a massive impact and become our next Stones-grade export.
Generally the more season tickets you sell the more revenue it generates, the more you have to spend on players and wages etc.
If jalo lives up to some of the speculation and his potential he could be our record sale. Only worry is we blood him too young and ruin him lets not forget he is only 16. Connell could be a great find and benson working under duff again could come good. Alot of wildcards.
Agreed Jalo needs handling with care and not pushing too hard. Hopefully they'll have learned from what has happened to others.
I agree that season ticket sales for this season might affect future seasons but the effect on the current season is minimal to nothing.... I would hope that the squad was complete before you finish selling STs. Edit. given that our STs are probably half the price of the Massives, we'd need to sell twice as many as them to get the same revenue but that's never going to happen is it? But yes your argument has some validity.
8th As others have said, I think we might flirt with the top 6 for spells but ultimately we won't have the quality up front to make it. I like the sound of Norwood, but he's pretty much on his own as it stands. Cole might be ok in league one but he won't be a dependable scorer of goals. Iseka has quality but I'm guessing he'll find a move soon. The defense should be solid. We've got a great keeper. There's some quality in midfield, but again they're all kids so there's the chance they might go under if things go badly.
I agree defensively we look solid but attacking whos the goalscoring midfielder and last time round ee had kieffer and woodrow this time norwood and devante cole..
I’m clinging to Duffs knowledge of the game and that he gets a tune from the players he’s got and that if he’s there or there abouts in the last transfer windowveither sale or loan he knows what he wants the club back him as much as they can . Having said that after first couple of games last season I thought we’d be ok , never thought we’d be relegated but didn’t count on some players downing tools as they did tbh even though the coaching was non existent .
