Speaking of kits, anyone seen Wimbledon's latest offerings?

    Anyone see an issue?

(Yes, their third is red, but even so...)

Go on, I'm either daft or a bit slow but don't know what's the issue

Can't remember the year, but Pompey did it once before in the past. Had their usual blue home kit with a navy blue away offering.

Not a usual occurrence that is for sure.

So the womens team play at home and the mens team play away? ;-)

How exactly does that fulfil the criteria set out in the rules?

    EFL Regulations 2022/23

    38 Registration of Playing Kits
38.1 During the Close Season, each Club shall notify The League in writing details of its ‘home’ and ‘away’ kit (shirt, shorts and socks) and if applicable any ‘third’ set of kit. Each set of kit registered must differ visibly from and contrast with each other kit registered by the Club in that Season. In circumstances where an ‘away’ Club cannot wear any of its kits without causing a potential kit clash, that Club shall be able to wear any combination of its registered kit in order to avoid the potential kit clash. The League shall inform all other Clubs, Referees and Assistant Referees of such details. The ‘home’ kit so registered by each Club shall be worn for all Home Matches during the next following Season. No changes either in the kit or combination of colours of kits shall be permitted during the course of the Season.

    Guidance
Clubs are required to notify the Football Services Department of their chosen colours for all new ‘home’, ‘away’ and ‘third’ sets of kit at the planning stage then the League can provide approval. When registering kits, Clubs must ensure that the colour of the shirt, shorts and socks for each kit is different to and would sufficiently contrast against the other kits registered by the Club.
For the avoidance of doubt, a ‘kit’ constitutes a set of shirt, shorts and socks. When considering selection of colours of shirts / socks, Clubs should have regard to the guidance issued by the Football Association on helping those affected by colour blindness, a copy of which is available on the EFL SharePoint site accessed via the Club Portal system.

Anyone remember the game at Selhurst Park when we played in Palace’s away kit, complete with names on the back?

That was odd! Funnily enough I used to play weekly with a load of mates on a Tuesday, would always turn up in my Barnsley shirt and one night we were mismatched number/colour wise so ended up grabbing a spare Palace shirt that my Palace supporting mate brought

I'll be honest ST, I haven't fully read your post, but I think it circumvents the rules, as both the blue kits are classed as 'home kits'.

They're going to wear the lighter blue in every home game, the darker blue in every away game where they could wear their home strip, and then a red away kit for any away game where blue clashes.

That seems like a new and unique way to try and fleece the fans.

There's not much I admire about US sports but in most of them I think teams go creative with their first/home kit and have to wear a white variant for the second/away shirt.

Under regulations you can register three kits, all three must be substantially different and contrast each other.

That's absolutely pointless. Imagine us wearing maroon for away games.

IIRC all was fine - it was the ref who thought the kit clashed too much on the day.

Can’t remember if it clashed with Palace or the ref himself.

Palace. The ref didn't seem to mind that him and Luke Steele both had black shorts socks and shirts on for some reason
