Heart says one nil reds, one of our defender's scoring from a corner. Forwards useless unable to hit a barn door. Head says two nil Plymouth win. Styles red carded Norwood stretched off and out for most if not the whole season. Always hoping for the reds win but just got the gut feeling. I really hope I'm wrong. Sorry everyone.
1-0 Reds. Think our defensive players will prove to be a good group for this league and make us hard to score against.
I'm genuinely curious to see what we do on saturday. I've not seen any of the pre season footage and I don't know what to expect in terms of style or what level players are at. Pre season is never easy to judge, but we seem to have been fairly stable and organised. I'd love a win, but given the level of change again, coming away with a point would do me.
Hard to call but we’ll need to be strong defensively as it's hard to see where we're likely to score. Hoping for a solid draw or somehow nicking a win but expecting a narrow defeat if I'm honest.
Heres what the Argyle fans think and it’s a good read imo. https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/one-game-at-a-time-barnsley-h.119165/ And another view https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/50-50-barnsley.119183/ Sorry wrong one Here it is https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/argyle-v-barnsley-the-build-up-q-a.119156/ and Argyle fans predictions https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/score-prediction-vs-barnsley.119135/
In all my years of watching us, there's only been 2 away victories on the opening game of the league season (1976 1-0 at Brentford & Millar scoring, 1996 2-1 at WBA with Marcelle and Liddell getting the goals). Is it asking too much for a third on Saturday? Surely not?
I'm glad you posted that. I was musing to myself earlier and trying to recall the last away win on opening day and the only one I could recall was West Brom away. Though my stronger recollections are from about 1990-2000, I thought we must have had one since..... but it seems not.
Plymouth decent last season.. don't think they've sold any.. We're a work in progress .. still very much in transition... 1-0 Argyle.
Barnsley seem to get 4-0 opening day scores so I'm going with that. Sadly I think it will be a repeat of some away day defeats ... 4-0 to Plymouth.
