    Did I say that? No.

I’m saying those in charge have no f’king clue, anyone with a modicum of common sense can see that.

If he can play with his back to goal, hold up the ball, & link up play with the likes of Norwood & Aitchson then I’ll be happy.

I hope it’s Tedic if only because he fired us up to the Premier League on a footy manager save I had going about 3 years ago. Managed to get him on a permanent with the premier league money. A happier, more care free time.

He didn't actually - he didn't score any last season at all

His last goal was on 3rd April 2021

If it's that Tedić guy, then honestly, I'm disappointed. I'm happy to be proven wrong and I hope the lad gets 20 goals but I can feel it in my gut that another untried, untested U23's player is not going to work out.

I was very optimistic when the board re-shuffle happened, and I was more than happy to give the new board a clean slate and see what happened. I know there is financial constraints and they're holding out for their asking price for Helik and Styles but there must come a point where they accept that teams aren't going to offer x, y or z and we are fast running out of time to assemble a squad that will be competitive in L1, so a decision needs to be made sooner rather than later.

Back to Tedić, simply put, he isn't going to be the difference we need up top, in our heart of hearts, I think we all know that.

    Totally underwhelming.

Adam Phillips from Burnley? Similar hair but he recently sported a beard.
Need a creative midfielder and is available, maybe MD has pulled some strings?

It’s like a massive game of guess who!

He got a goal in December 21 didn’t he? According to transfermarkt anyway. (Not that it really matters!)

Not the most prolific (putting it nicely) but then target men usually aren’t. I’m assuming he’s a target man given his height but I know very little about him.

The strikers that we bring in were always going to be loans or freebies so I’m not sure we’ll get anyone who has a history of being prolific. It would at least give us a different option and with the way Cadden was whipping them in on Saturday, he should get on the end of some at least.

That’s if it even is this Tedic guy…

This must be a first, slagging off a new signing before we even know who he is!

Don't think so according to this but as you say 2 v 3 goals over 2 seasons ain't gonna sway any discussion another way!

Slobodan Tedic - Detailed stats | Transfermarkt

Edit - I was only looking at league goals and yes he got 1 goal last season in the KNVB Beker whatever that is (Dutch Cup?) against a lower division team

I understand your sentiment, I really do. But our situation is really quite dire.

We had a £4.3m loss the last year published, and I suspect notched up another very significant cost of £2-3m at least last season. In the accounts for the playoff season, our income was increased by over £2m to subsidise the pandemic (though some will have covered some other revenue we may have had, though we also saved some costs on matchday too).

In addition to that, we've got relegated with a suggestion our turnover will lose circa £7-8m as a consequence. We've lost around 3,000 season ticket holders. And we don't have a shirt sponsor.

You collate all that and it's a massive financial hit and our costs have to reduce. We've got rid of a few wages but nowhere near enough, and we've brought in a few fees, though unless we've crashed on price to get cash in quick, thats likely to be about £1m now to keep us going. Thats also essentially a subsidy to tide us over until we're at breakeven, the fees incoming shouldn't be seen as either free money to spend, or that it's a saving, because we're still overspending and will be generating losses.

We're therefore in the position of needing players to strengthen the side, but desperately needing to offload players to save further wages and have a future.

I don't envy anyone having to steer this ship, indeed, let alone anyone who's never had to do it before as a turnaround or restructure.

I suspect it will get worse before it gets better. Of course, the owners could throw about £5m to cover losses for a season. Though I'm not sure whats left of our team is good enough to bounce back, and I wouldn't feel comfortable that the ownership were putting money in either.

Unless we get some massive fees for Styles, Andersen, Helik and Collins, I think we're very likely to see incomings as young loans or free transfers. Most of the decent free transfers have likely been taken now, which leaves us in the loan market.
