I see this signing is still to be announced then after pictures and stuff done with him, same situation to the RWB from last weekend. Wonder if they’ve been taken to Locke Park and got lost like the player last season that did a bunk!
The thing that really gets me, is the fact that neerav/ the board haven’t even been honest. ‘We’re going to under promise and over deliver’, which is a promise in my book. They’ve inadvertently raised hopes to some extent. Why not come out and say we're in a mess, the squad is going to be very limited, made up of frees and loans and we simply have to cash in on the best players. We won't be able to invest back into the squad with transfer fees. But in Duff we've recruited a coach who we believe can stabilise us. I’m a pretty optimistic guy, but the last couple of seasons have really tested me. I’ve got to say though this is lowest I’ve felt regarding our football club in a very long time, probably worse than last season. I simply have no confidence in the board and CEO to get us out of the mess we’re in. It’s no real surprise that season ticket sales have fallen by the 000’s.
I am not sure how anyone can have a pop at the club on the subject of this thread, the club to my knowledge have said nothing ,it is just a long boring thread produced by the users of the BBS discussing & speculating about what is so far is a none existent transfer , as far as I am concerned until there is a club statement about a transfer then there is nothing to discuss , I just think it is speculation from some inpatient fans & yet it gets discussed by some as if it is fact , well it is not fact until something actually happens .
It’s no surprise we’ve lost a couple of thousand season ticket holders because that always happens when we drop a division. Given how truly awful last year was I’m surprised we’re near the 8,000 mark to be honest. All down to interpretation isn’t it? The under promise and over deliver was in regards to marketing initiatives such as the infamous voucher book, from memory, rather than the playing side of things. And many supporters knew from Neerav’s comments that we’d have to sell - but at least he was putting a positive stance with the ‘on our terms’ part. Whether or not we truly end up selling everyone on our terms remains to be seen, because Helik for £1.5m in my mind would be scandalous. Jury still out but all this over not yet announcing a signing that the club has made no comment on? Feels a bit over the top. Announced in the morning and we can move on to his lack of goals and appearances, before the next rumour hits.
‘Inpatient fans’ Did you like what you saw on Saturday at Plymouth, I didn’t and neither did thousands more, if you and others can’t see we needs players in asap you and the rest need to get ya heads outta the sand ffs Cheltenham like Plymouth are an okay side at this level and are very much capable of beating us definitely as it stands with our current squad. As will a lot of sides in this league, won’t be no walk in the park like the Stendel season we came down with a decent squad that season, we don’t have one this time.
I'm sorry Loko the Tyke but you have to be consistent. It's been a car crash of a summer. Neerav and Jean Cryne who gets away with it. I honestly believe have taken the piss out of the fans and I feel really annoyed by it at them BOTH On Saturday. I was flat. I'm normally like a 7-year-old on Christmas day for the first pre-season game and the first game of the season. I couldn't be arsed. Just to add. I'm sick of the lot of them. I've defended Khaleed. I thought he would bring a hell of a lot more. Links to help us get loans...... he's been ****. JAQ. its not sexist or whatever I was told before. I don't get her. and Even Micheal Duff. Rotherham finished second last season. We aren't facing Real Madrid anytime soon so stop the negative BS please. At least Keith Hill did it in the champ and was funny.
I didnt like what i saw or the result, that said i don't want to see some knee jerk reaction that increases the danger that the team i have been supporting for 50 years goes to the wall. We all know mistakes have been made in the last couple of seasons but now we have a manager that a lot of us have some level of confidence and hope in and i think we need to give him some time to build his own team. We cannot spend our way out of this position, we can only build our way out of it.
No knee jerk reactions from me, I’m going by a season of complete garbage last season and the start of this one being horribly mismanaged by those above. Again anyone that thinks we’re going to cruise and get by this season without more bodies in needs to wake up and show this league respect.
Last summer was the car crash Phil. A full-on RTA. At least this summer we have repaired the car and are slowly driving forward again, albeit in first gear at times. As for the Rotherham and Keith Hill comments, sorry - a bit lost there.
We can't keep looking back. What is gone is gone. The signings this summer are what I'm worried about. People have different opinions of different players that is fine but I have mine too. Duff, Rotherham, Hill. You will have to listen to Micheal Duff speak. Every team is tough and it's going to be hard. Sick of it already and it's 2nd Aug.
Where has anyone not been consistent? Just repeating it over and over doesn’t make it right. Also, when will you learnt to choose your words more carefully? Plymouth are more than just an ok side. Strong at this level and built something that could take them further. Of course it won’t be the same as the Stendel season. We came down with the John Stones money on the balance sheet which allowed us to keep that strong squad together. Only signed Woodrow, Bahre and Dougall remember, but still had to sell Potts and Bradshaw to fund that and the losses they knew were coming. Good job we were promoted really.
Im not sure what I have said wrong. You were the most critical of the former Chairman why not this one?
Yeah I said on another thread last week that Plymouth were a good side at this level and that we shouldn’t take them lightly. We did exactly that and lost. The Stendel side would absolutely blitz our current side. Like you said we had to sell Bradshaw but we ended up bringing in a better replacement in Woodrow, we’ve sold 2 ‘star’ strikers this term round and haven’t replaced either and won’t if we think we can replace them by signing Premier League U23 players on loan, with barely any professional games and goals to their names.
It's in reference to my take on the press conference in early June was it? I hope people get behind them. Mentioned taking the club back to what the club was under Patrick ........ This isn't the club going back to what it was under Patrick in league one. We signed young exciting players then. and had good young players in from the season before. Mawson isn't like signing Cundy. We also signed players like Toney and Fletcher that season. This we have signed Norwood. I must be making it up because Im sure I sat at oakwell and listened to someone and maybe Mr Cryne himself talk about the profile of the player he wanted.
