https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...rthamptonshire-group-b-1297963/full-scorecard Doing well Yorkshire in their first match with nine players missing due to the Hundred and others who would have played missing like Balance with covid. The young lads did well in it last year so we should expect more of the same and it's a chance for some guys who don't play much for the first 11 to get some game time against strong sides.
Yes, watching the live stream on YouTube, decent total that with very testing conditions early on. I'm off to York on Thursday for the game against the old enemy, lets hope they can bat as well then!
Looks a bigger seated ground than I expected. Nice to see the deckchairs á la Scarborough. Enjoy it on Thursday
the cricket ground is at Clifton Park... https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...2d31e810b85d052!8m2!3d53.9724625!4d-1.1040823
Not sure anyone's 'bairning' but it is fact that in Yorkshire's 9 team group the 10 players we have lost are the most of any of the teams we will play. (As far as I can see only mega-rich Surrey and Warwickshire are losing more anyway).
Well done to both … but particularly Bairstow. For years he has been totally devoted to playing for his country in any format, never hesitating about co-vid bubbles and being away for months. He has been moved up and down the order and kept wicket competently when asked to do so. Also he brushed away the BBS critics early this summer !!!!!! Nominee for Sportsman of Year maybe ? Stokes hasn’t played a T20i since last Spring, so will he pack that format in after the World Cup ? I haven’t looked at Englands tour schedule in detail but it was mentioned on here that they are due in 5 different countries in the next year so he may decide to concentrate on his captaincy and general Test match game ? There’s a lot happening at the moment in Yorkshire and England cricket so we don’t need or want the Hundred right now or ever
I thought the Hundred would have been better if it had been unisex. It offers nothing different to the rest of Pyjama Cricket.
The RLC is basically a competition for second teams but if it was promoted as that, it would have an effect on crowd numbers and the sponsors. Heard an interesting but worrying fact yesterday : This year is first time since 1939 that there is no first class county cricket during August
