    Yeah there’s that

Or you fetch his fat idle arse back here and either make him play and do the job he’s handsomely paid for or find a way to end his contract even if that means paying him off surely we’ll be saving money in the long run?

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2022/june/board-speak-to-press-following-restructure/

"There's grace in the budget to bring a few in first, but obviously it's not going to be multi-million pound purchases, it might be a few free transfers, a few people who come in for lower fees, and then we'll have a sense of what our financial budget is closer to the window.

"There is a transfer budget, but it depends on outgoings as well, it's fluid, but we are going to look at bringing players in."

I'm not sure how anything other than the failure to sell Styles and Helik has been a surprise to anybody.

But it would cost us now, when we can't afford anything to cost us. As with most things, saving money in the long run is something that is sadly reserved for those with enough money now.

It’s costing us every week still paying the c()nts wages. He’s still got 2 years left on his contract too ffs

I'd say the bull goes back further than that. I'd say it goes back to the Winnall and Hourihane contract negotiations that did/didn't happen and sales. Before that, not knowing how much Stones was worth etc.

    I'd like a new broom.

Unfortunately that will only happen if we're bought outright.

I'm starting to think finances aren't your strong point. Why do you think we've got a spare £150k to throw at Oulare?

We can't all have a place on the board of directors.

And here he is with the condescending comments to the supporters he’s supposed to represent and be the bridge between supporters and the board.

But no I won’t lie finances aren’t my strong point, I’m just an average working class Barnsley supporter that’s been a season ticket holder for the past 20+ years and I have every right to be concerned about the immediate future of my club.

True, hopefully there's at least a modest wage contribution from his loan club.

But we're potless. Any money we give Oulare to leave will have to be found from somewhere. And it doesn't seem to be coming from any extra cash injections from the board.

This summarises the risk of long contracts really well. Oulare knows that he is contracted to BFC until June 2024. However much he's being paid, unless he is in breach of contract, he can sit out the remainder of his contract taking the cash. To try and pay him up the club need to make him an offer that reflects the value of his contract.

Doing so would accelerate cash out of the club with minimal saving and accelerate the depreciation on his intangible asset value.

I would be amazed if RWD are making anything like a decent contribution to his salary, this is a Belgian second division team with average gates of just over 2,000. The fact the club is owned by John Textor may provide the link to Conway of doing his pal a favour. RWD's record transfer came last season purportedly paying Euro 2.25m for Mickael Biron from Oostende. Previous clubs was AS Nancy. Makes you think doesn't it....

Conway had the votes to do what he liked, regardless of if Neerav tried to stop him or not.

It's also been mentioned on here that Neerav and Jean were responsible for directly engaging with the minority shareholders now represented by JAQ and getting Conway removed as nominee once the agreement expired - so not sitting back and letting him get on with it.

The nominee period for PMG was for a fixed term. May was the earliest opportunity to get rid.

Mate - you keep repeating that we 'must be able to afford x, y and z'. At multiple junctures people are reminding you we're essentially broke but you think we can find the cash to pay off Oulare and invest in players like May from Cheltenham.

It's not condescending to suggest that you haven't fully grasped the reality of our bank balance for the season ahead. This isn't a situation we can spend our way out of, not if you want another 20+ years of being a supporter.

Better late than never though, surely? In hindsight we would have never sold to them in the first place, but no one was banging that drum when we got promoted, or when we were in the play-offs. Reality is we had a disastrous 12 months and are where we are right now. No getting away from the huge financial hole we're in, and what we'll need to do to plug it.

There was still no need for your patronising comment about what I am an expert in. It’s like you’re talking down to me because I’m not as privy to our finances as I don’t have the sources you do.

No offence but I cba arguing with you. You’ve made it perfectly clear time and time before just where you stand.

    150k where's that come from?

If we take 8k a week which is a figure I've seen mentioned on here. 2 years of that is 832k....

If, it does take 150k to get rid, it's a bloody good saving

Tbh the best outcome we can ever hope for is for a different ownership group altogether to buy us, but let’s be honest there’s more chance of Devante Cole scoring 50 goals this season.

We just have to make do with what we’ve got and try turning chicken **** into chicken salad.
