I'll use the same figures. Director loan 150k Add a 50k interest charge for doing it Pay back to directors the 8k per week for 25 weeks. In 25 weeks, we have a release of 8k wages gone, the directors have made a 50k profit for their trouble, and BFC will save 600 and odd thousand what other wise would have been taken by the charlatan that's supposed to be a professional player.
It really does beggar belief. He has played 100 games since his pro debut 8 years ago. An average of 12 games per year. But 52 of those games were across 2 consecutive seasons. I blame Paul Conway squarely with this clsutefruck of a signing. After all, Obbi's just a nice lad ........
Surely, there must be a small part of the football world that resembles real life? One would hope. There must be some sort of rule that allows you to get rid of lazy wasters purely by having documented proof of lack of effort? If he is not a lazy waster (he is a nice lad) then surely something medical / contractual that renders his contract invalid. KPI's / agreed fitness levels / personal goals and objectives / team goals not met (or scored!!) In a normal job, if there is not enough evidence to terminate, then any decent manager worth his salt would simply 'manage him through the business'. Surely to God his contract is not so watertight it renders him un-sackable?
He should be back here training three times a day until fit, until the inevitable 'injury' occurs he should then be used elsewhere within the club, cleaning boots or sweeping the stadium. He certainly shouldn't be chilling out in Belgium whilst we pay his wages!
Yup and 0 goals in 23 games last season. Let’s see how he fairs but his recent record makes our current crop of strikers sound like Ballon d’Or winners.
signings like this make little sense to me. the only information we have is that he doesn't score goals. just invites immediate pressure, before he's kicked a ball. he won't be given time to adjust. if he starts slow it will be 'well yeah, look at his record. terrible signing'. hey ho.
Just gonna see how he gets on, just hope he isn’t a has to play type loan deal and isn’t going to take away the minutes of the likes of Marsh. Much prefer to develop our own over someone else’s player we only have temporarily.
Doesn't make any sense to me as we are supposed to be operating on a data driven approach to scout out hidden gems based on stats etc. I would love to know what parameters were put in to find this guy who as a striker didn't manage to score a goal at all last season. Yes he played for the worst team in the league last year but so did Cole and he still scored for us and we know he is pants too. Neerav said in the press conference a few months ago that we were going back to that and not deviating away from it as we had seen in the past with players like Oulare who flopped here. I might be wrong here but to me this feels like a deviation from that approach and Khaled has sorted this using his links to the city group as a panic loan. I hope this lad proves me and the other doubters wrong, I really do but I am very underwhelmed.
so I get people saying they hate me when I say I don't like a non-league Nigel from a literal pub league. But people can say they don't like getting a player with the pedigree of the best team in the country and people don't say anything. Him and ALI upfront. Jalo, on the bench hopefully soon and we are looking a bit better. Still not happy about the formation, Head coach nonsense. tactics or other signings this summer apart from Connell but things might be brightening up slightly.
He has no pedigree with the best team in the country. He has never played a minute of football for them. Look, I know you like the idea of young players on loan but this lad literally has scored 2 goals in 2 years while out on loan. How are we supposed to be more excited by this than someone like Norwood who actually has scored goals in the league we are in for the last 3 seasons.
We haven't, as far as I'm aware, signed anyone from non league, or as you patronisingly call it, the pub league.
Any player that's played at the same level as Pontefract collieries shouldn't ever play for Barnsley. It should be illegal or something. You don't get through the doors at these top clubs without been a good player. You just don't. and for them to spend multi millions on him he's got to have something.
