If the football at Oakwell this season ends up as bad as last season, it’s absinthe the fans are going to need not alcohol-free!

How will they know if someone has already had one from a different kiosk unless you can have more than one.

Trust me, you want want more than 1. Tried one at the "BBQ" the other week and it's J Arthur Rank. Couldn't finish the can, left half of it.

I don't think they'll mind that to be honest.

For a bit of context/info, Athletic Brewing Co didn't really exist 3/4 years ago. They only produce alcohol free beers, which despite the standard cynical and pessimistic jokes, has grown year on year as a category for the last five years and is going through a bit of a boom right now in the UK since 2019.

In the US though the alcohol free beer trend is actually behind the UK, which is massively behind certain parts of Europe, yet they're already the 27th biggest craft brewery in America. That's phenomenal, so whilst AF isn't to everyone tastes it's great that the club have unlocked these guys as one of several sponsors. They make great beer and have some great partnerships in the US, like with the official US Triathlon.

Judge it based on an occasion when you wouldn't drink alcohol, rather than thinking it replaces the beer that you were going to buy.

I don't mind alcohol free beer as long as it tastes pretty much the same. All the taste but with the benefit of feeling no different.

The gluten free one tastes ok. Next challenge is steward staying sober tasting all plastic cups going up to top corner with alcohol in athletic containers. Not me but can see it

Some of it tastes better. And that’s pretty much a fact. Some shocking beer out there these days.

Bishops Finger, Spitfire, Black Sheep, Old Speckled Hen, Banks' and McEwan's are nice beers. Had some last night from Lidl.

I noticed JAQ, and no doubt her husband, were at Oakwell today for the first time. Meaning they’re here for the game tomorrow.

That’s positive but not seen anyone mention it (unless it’s hidden in a thread somewhere). Go figure.

Don’t get why that’s such a positive that needs highlighting, unless her husband is a 30 goal a season striker and is starting up front for us tmorra?!

Whilst it might taste similar it doesn’t replace the actual part people enjoy or are addicted to.

If I’m not drinking a nice cold glass of Coca Cola etc is all I need.

See I’ve no interest in Coca Cola or anything fizzy pop like. But at 2pm in the afternoon when you’re passed the coffee deadline, hand me a Punk Or Hazy AF and I’m more than happy.

Each to their own. You’d think after all the criticism levelled at some of the previous board for not showing up, and to JAQ for not flying in for Open Day or for the Press Conference, it’s a positive that she’s flown in for the first home game.

Maybe I’m just not wired up right. But surely at worst it at least shows a sign of commitment to the position she’s taken up post Conway?

Can’t remember the last time we had every single one of our Board of Directors at Oakwell at the same time.
