Beautiful sunny day after a week of great weather and the pitch is unplayable - its as bad as our game at Charlton a few years ago though hopefully it was called off yesterday so no one travelled. Cant imagine many Rotherham fans went yesterday to spend the weekend there like they might against Blackpool for example
Coventry should forfeit. It’s been called off because they cant fulfil the fixture because they leased the ground out to the commonwealth games.
I don’t think it’s the fault of Coventry City though. I’d imagine they’re just as annoyed and feel let down as much as Rotherham do.
Not strictly true. In fact it's worse than that. Coventry as re just one of a few tenants of the stadium and Birmingham 22 (the games) had exclusive use of it until next week, the end part of that exclusive use was to be used sorting out the pitch. Coventry city instead requested that the EFL schedule them a home game for this week as they wanted to cash in by getting a home match as early as possible plus hoping to get some commonwealth games tourists into a Coventry game. They were warned by the landlord that they had no use of the stadium at this time but begged for them to allow them use one week early despite knowing it meant the pitch wouldn't be ready.
