A thought we played well yesterday, Collins not really troubled as such, a couldn’t really pick a player who a thought was poor.......a think my best XI is; collins Styles Williams Mads Helik McCarthy Kane O’Connell Thomas Norwood Tedic Obviously that’s dependent on styles and helik going or stopping!! A think the above 11 gets us top 10 at least
Can I ask on what basis youre putting Tedic in over Aitchinson or even Marsh mate? With him being a developmental signing especially. Never even seen him play myself
It was merely based on his height and what a think he’ll hopefully bring to team, a think strikers we have are certainly in need of that big lad up top
Collins, new rwb, cadden,William's,anderson, kitchen, benson.connel, thomas, new foward, aitchinson happy with styles if he stays at lwb Norwood to starts some games and same with kane when fit and McCarthy didn't do anything wrong yesterday but I like Williams pace in the back 3
I hope we have some additions & get decent money for Styles & Helik. Until that point the strongest lineup will be fluid. Really good to see Thomas in the mix. He could be the difference this season if he can keep up that level of work rate. We lack a number 10 / goalscoring midfielder & he looks like he could be the one.
If everyone stays and no signings come in. Collins Williams Helik Madds Styles Cadden Connell Kane Wolfe Aitchison Norwood That didn’t format very well! ………………Collins …….Williams….Helik…..Madds Styles……………………………Cadden ……………….Connell …………Kane…………Wolfe ………..Aitchison……..Norwood
Yep. We only have Williams as a RWB in the squad and if I was picking my/our very best team, I’d want Styles and Cadden in it, and I’d want Williams in the back three alongside Madds and Helik.
Totally with you on this. I think we've looked better over the last couple of seasons with some pace in the back three be that Sibbick or Williams. Styles is a good wing back and could do a temporary job there whilst we bring in a new RWB (hopefully).
Williams played well on Saturday, where his pace got him in to some really good positions, but we could sign someone to do that same job and drop Williams in to that three where he’s always played so well. If we didn’t sign anyone then I know Styles would do a job there for a full season. Cutting inside could be a massive use to us, but at the same time we know Duff likes width, overlapping, and getting to the bye line.
Understand your logic but Syles just uses his right leg to stand on. He'd be exposed on the outside at RWB in my view. LWB. Yes. A no brainer. Cadden looks like a good buy but I'd leave him out if Styles stays. I like the look of Wolfe in midfield. However I'd swap him for Benson who I think will grow/is growing as the season progresses. Thomas would be the first name on the team sheet for me. Looks hungry. Works his socks off and his natural instinct is to attack and take players on. He could set this team alight this season. Therefore: Collins Mads Helik McCarthy Jordan Benson Connell Styles Thomas Norwood Aitchison
All fair comments. Elected against Thomas as one swallow doesn’t make a Summer (yet), but he was outstanding yesterday, and for as well as Benson played I do worry he doesn’t have the pace or fitness. Also basing this on a fully fit Herbie Kane (who you could argue also doesn’t have the pace or fitness), and I just like Wolfe, his physicality, and his height given our strikers are tiny things. Thought Styles put a couple of half decent performances in covering that side last season. Far from ideal, but he could still be great in this league from that side coming inside. Cadden is too good (I think) to leave out.
