I would disagree here. Depending on what is actually going on behind the scenes, and who is involved, I'd take no update until later today if the update was a positive one. Hugely complex situation and anything beige will be quite rightly rinsed. Take the heat for another 24 hours but make your first comment on it impactful. Hopefully putting it to bed, for now, there and then. Although we know there's an aftermath whatever the announcement is.
the least I would expect would be a holding statement, to acknowledge concerns and to confirm they were being taken seriously. damage limitations.
Like I said, that depends on what else is going on behind the scenes. Probably one of the most complex things we've demanded an update on in years in terms of the parties involved, contracts, etc. A holding statement just stems more of the same questions and doesn't really put people at ease. But it really does depend on the time between where they're at now vs. when they're expecting to have something to say. If it's less than 24 hours then wait it out, if longer than that awareness statement is definitely needed.
I agree with this. An attempt to appease people right now would be a sensible action. Let us know that, at the very least, an investigation is taking place. it is also wrong to start apportioning blame and calling for people's heads when we dont know all the facts and who was/wasn't involved.
You would also expect someone from Hex would have made a comment by now distancing themselves as a brand from those people and their views etc. Richard the founder has been vocal on twitter towards our fans but not distanced himself from those people and those views. Nor have Hex themselves from what I have seen unless it is because I have muted or blocked them on twitter. Hopefully we get something from the club soon.
It was really one person's views wasn't it? The King Couture account? The person who claimed to have brokered the deal hadn't tweeted anything controversial that I've seen? There are people in the 'community' trying to distance themselves, and him, from the tweets. Saying it isn't representative, that's not the ethos of the community, and he can't have been expected to check through that person's Twitter history. Saying if there's a football fan behaving badly online that doesn't mean the whole of the supporter base behave like that or think that.
The Kuqi couture account that has posted all the worst tweets was one of the ones tagged by that Brent guy who we as a club named as being someone who was involved in the deal. That to me indicates that whoever the Kuqi person is, that he was somewhat involved. Until we get clarity on this we won't know for sure, but at this moment in time that is the way it reads to me. So if that is the case, he has been a key player in getting this done and has been open in sharing his not so accepting views. That also makes it very different from just a 'fan' of Hex posting something of that nature if the person behind that tweet was involved in the deal. The rest of the community may not share those views but if he has been involved in brokering this deal and we as a club have failed to notice this then its very amateur. It didn't take our fans long to find those tweets once it was announced so surely the club should have spotted this. The tweet from that Brent thanking those accounts for their help has also been deleted which again feel a bit suspect to me. This whole situation is getting so messy.
Not yet Stephen but it will and they will take great pleasure in attacking the people of Barnsley. This is a self inflicted wound brought about by a lack of transparency of the club, who owns it and who has influence. Sadly I see the imprint of JAQ in this, and the incompetence of Khaled and new director Andrew. Did we need a shirt sponsor? If so,why a foreign organisation? My idea of promoting local charities, changing every month is looking pretty good now.
Have they paid Barnsley F.C any money up front as part of this Sponsorship. Have they paid Barnsley F.C in crypto currency?
Well. I've had a few beers over the weekend. Not really taken much notice. And I'm currently in a position reminiscent to the famous clip of kammi on skysports.... I've no idea what's going off geoff
Lol, interesting question. "£100k? No problem. Would you like us to pay you in crypto?" " Ermmmm...thanks awfully but no we prefer cash"
Taking them all at face value, it appears that these investors have seemingly made so much money through Hex and become so rich, that it's enabled them to stop working and spend all day on Twitter and Facebook immediately replying to posts about Barnsley FC. I'm not sure that's how I'd spend my time if I had become so fantastically rich.
Well he did re-open the West stand but as he closed it in the first place its hard to give too much credit Did he appoint Duff or was that done at Board level over his head?
I think in the past, it's been disclosed that there is a collective group who work on a majority rule when appointing coaches (of course, this could have changed). However, the process was extremely convoluted, felt lengthier than a tory leadership contest and he managed to out Hasselbaink as someone we'd spoken to. So not great in the scheme of things.
