Why would a fan make up the shortfall of a deal our owners should have done their homework on before accepting?

I shouldn't be able to believe a professional Football club would accept a deal before checking on it first, but I do.

Are you comfortable with this bloke being an investor in the club?

No. I’m going to be one of those that contact the club and demand to know how this deal was ever endorsed, and why Barnsley Football Club are in commercial partnership with an alt-right commentator.

Who are these people that ‘don’t even watch the team’? Obviously you’re not referring to me there?

Your endorsement is myopic and shows zero empathy to fans’ absolutely genuine concerns. It’s shameful.

Since this sponsorship was announced, anything posted on social media by the club or fans has been flooded with Hex bots/followers. Some are polite, many are aggressive or insulting but all of them have the purpose of persuading people to join up. I don't see that this will settle down eventually as this is their Modus Operandi and it will continue to disrupt the online relationship between the club and fans.
Hex need new people to join and give money. They say how wonderfully risk-free it is while aggressively rubbishing anyone who challenges their set up.
No-one is accountable for anything negative because they are just a 'community' of people wanting to 'share the wealth'.
I've already seen numerous fans on Twitter being persuaded to get more information and at a time when many in the area are struggling financially, it sits uneasily with me.
That Barnsley FC are seen to be endorsing this will be seen as legitimising it for some fans when in reality, if this sales pitch was done by someone knocking on your door or posting a leaflet through, you would just ignore it.

As always I'll be very interested in what I hear from those at the match.

Remember hearing things prior to Luton away last season? It was funny. In reality, the people saying whatever didn't go to the game.

I have my views political but I don't know the views of others. Sponsors, owners nothing.

I'm someone who doesn't watch the team any more. I made that decision during last season when the west stand was closed, even though I had a season ticket. All the time I've been hoping that things would one day change for the better, so maybe I would go again. It seemed to be happening, and then this debacle! I reserve the right to make a moral judgement about abhorrent social media statements, whether I watch the team or not. It's an all time disaster for the club, the like of which I've not seen in 55 years as a supporter. I honestly can't fathom how anyone could be indifferent to such hateful language.

I don’t care about whatever it is you’re talking about at Luton. I also don’t care whether someone is able go to an away game or not. I care about the details of this commercial partnership and who we have tied ourselves to.

I don’t know how anyone representing the Club, can even begin to defend being sponsored by this person.

He does. He’s one of a group of direct investors behind the deal. Was confirmed last night.

Marc. You seem like a decent person.

But why are you commenting on a sponsor that okay as views whatever. I haven't looked into what people are and aren't saying.

Why aren't you complaining about the club having to partner with a food bank in 2022? There shouldn't be a need for food bank in 2022. Thats a bigger issue to me. I get more annoyed by that.

Who is that account? Is it someone involved in the ownership of the business? If so then we cannot continue.

    I can do both.

I strongly suggest you DO look into the investors behind this sponsorship, if you have any moral compass whatsoever.

Of course it absolutely matters who Barnsley Football Club partner with. I really shouldn’t need to have to explain that to you. It should be a given.

Apparently he's the sponsor, possibly along with a couple of others in the Hex community - they're basically investors in Hex trying to drum up more investors so they make a better return. It's not the 'company' that's sponsoring us.

    I do care about morals.

But this is Football. People within the top of football at the Ownership level. Sponsor level and even footballers have normally annoyed someone. How can someone have 100 million pound and not have upset someone?

unless you have an anti-moral community ( anti doping agency style) to manage every football club in the world then you are wanting a football to tie one hand behind the back.

The sponsor of the club has to be something the club is willing to endorse as the logo is plastered all over the front of the shirts that the players and fans wear that then gets seen by thousands and thousands each season.

If the brand behind that logo has unfavourable views like in this case, the club should not endorse that. Yes it will hurt the club short term in terms of cutting ties and losing money but ethically we have to cut ties to avoid alienating a large percentage of fans who do not share those views. I for one do not want to walk around with that logo on my shirt as one of the main investors is clearly someone I do not want to be associated with. Many fans will also agree.

You say you don't care what fans say unless they say it in the ground at the games, yet say you haven't looked into what these people are saying. Maybe spend some time doing some research into the full story before you have your say. If after doing so you are happy to still have them on the front of our teams shirt, then it is clear your morals are all wrong.

Again, not relevant. What’s relevant for me here, is the judgment of Barnsley Football Club to agree to a sponsorship deal with a right-wing conspiracy theorist, with an abhorrent social media presence and who stands against everything I believe in. That’s my only point of interest here.
