Wouldn’t be surprised if Trump’s people have been feeding the FBI a line to get them to raid it and if they come back empty handed to use it as another example of the socialist left eroding the rights of every freedom loving American…
I really hope the FBI have got this one right.

It would be nice if they put him in the next cell to another Republican nutter in Alex Jones.

FBI aren’t that naive, they probably got some solid information probably from someone wanting immunity.
Like all the others it will fade and fizzle out in the course of judicial procedure .
It’s the American way , well at least for the 1%

Trump's lawyers will now try to impeach the judge that authorized the search

The big question is... which of his crimes is this raid for? - January 6th? tax fraud? taking documents from the White House? being a special friend to Epstein? election fraud? money laundering?

Stealing documents from the Whitehouse he should have handed over apparently. Should be easy to prove/disprove. Lunchtime news says FBI have confirmed they've seized documents

Not like they need a reason as they still talk more about him than they do Biden but CNN will be all over this.

All of the above. Plus treason, perjury (on a hitherto unheard of scale) sociopathy, narcissism, bigotry etc etc.
they should have hit him with the 25th amendment when they had the chance.

Just because it's being used against someone I can't stand doesn't mean I don't find the weaponisation of the authorities against a political rival absolutely terrifying.

What are you meant to do when your political rival breaks the law though? Not contact the authorities?

Why is someone (regardless of who) reporting a possible felony with a credible accusation to the authorities who are then able to provide sufficient evidence to enable a judge to authorise a raid "terrifying"? Why do you consider it 'weaponising' ? You could argue by appointing Republican supporting judges to the Supreme Court to shift the balance by a Republican President in an increasingly partisan judicial system 'weaponising'

Not to reporting a possible felony would put politicians beyond the reach of the law.Is that what you are proposing?

It's not quite as simple as that though is it? If there's evidence that he broke the law, by unlawfully removing confidential documents from the white house is it "weaponisation of the authorities against a political rival" to investigate that? Bear in mind that the FBI director is still someone that was appointed by Trump.
