Been away for a couple of days and just read 22 pages of this. What an absolute sh*tshow. This sponsorship deal needs cancelling immediately. This online abuse of supporters cannot continue for one more second.
KEA told us he had 99.9% autonomy just a few months ago. The buck stops with him on this. I don't know how he survives this at all
''This online abuse of supporters cannot continue for one more second'' Strangely enough not received any online comment from it at all. It's almost like I haven't gone looking for it and also not been giving any out which all I see is what some Barnsley fans are doing.
Either he endorsed (and probably approved) the deal (irrespective of whether we courted them or they approached us) or it was presented to him as a fait accompli by an investor/owner. Either way, his position is untenable. The wider questioning needs to understand the part played by our commercial and comms director and our various board members and owners.
I'm close to bashing my key into absolute oblivion with the atrocious crap you are posting. Go on Phil. Go get a massive loan. Go get your family to invest everything they own into it. We can then say I told you so when you lose the lot. This is what people have issue with. Not the fact that we will lose money as a club. It's the ethical side of it (which you clearly have no clue of) of just what this can and will do to people who get involved Why admin ever let you back on here I've no idea
It’s almost like in any given situation you cover your eyes and sing laa laa laa to anything which doesn’t meet your agenda. Have you answered the questions put to you by other posters yet?
That's OK then, you haven't received any abuse. You're allright Jack. BUT many others have. Not acceptable in the slightest
Barnsley are also sponsored by skybet. Something people could lose money in. If you don't want to lose a bet then don't bet. I very rarely bet. Friends do. They know the risks. Investment room. People could have lost money on property investment. They could. If people aren't willing to take the risk then don't invest. It's the same with this. I don't know about this type of thing so I will stay away. Its the same with anything. If you don't understand it don't do it.
So by your admittance you have no clue what it is. So stop antagonising folk who are concerned about it by constantly asking them if they will pay for what the club loses out on. Your something else
Have you ever made a complaint about sky bet? Or Npower who are ripping people off? left right and centre
Your going on ignore. I'm not getting banned off here for what I really want to say. We are talking HEX. No skynet investment rooms etc. Go back a few pages and start answering questions you've been asked instead of knackering up every thread on this bbs. Again
Yet again, completely uninformed and zero empathy. Rainbow Reds put an open letter statement out. Impeccably worded, articulate, fair, heartfelt. A wonderful letter. It was met with a wave of responses from 'Hexicans', openly mocking, belittling and some insulting. Do you think that's acceptable? I retweeted Rainbow Reds open letter, by way of support. I was met with the same response. I've had to block around 50 accounts so far and mute conversations. Do you think that's acceptable? You're massively on the wrong side here.
Valid points to a degree. However, when was the last time someone representing SkyBet or Investment Room posted abusive messages to Barnsley fans? Or publicly threw homophobic slurs around? I'm betting (pun intended) there are few, if any examples. Yet just four days into a deal with Hex these things are happening regularly. I agree that if you don't understand something like betting or crypto that it's best to leave it alone or educate yourself. But that's not the point anyone is trying to make. We're not against this because someone might lose money (although that is a part of the reason), it's more about the ethics of the deal, the potential environmental impact and the fact that supporters are being harassed by Hexomaniacs (or whatever they're called) who have no respect for the culture of our club, our town or our supporters. Please answer the points others have raised toward you in this and other threads, especially @JamDrop 's question.
I don't think I could disagree with this more. You seen to seriously misunderstand/underestimate A) how annoyed our fans are B) the risk of further damage from alienating some fans and other sponsors C) how this is being viewed by other clubs Why would a holding statement be negative? If it occurs, it's positive, neutral at worst. If it doesn't, it engenders more and more questions and looks like we don't know or care about we are doing. You're often accused of being contrary, but this is a bit much.
Initially I thought you were missing the point through naivety or misunderstanding. I'm starting to think it's deliberate. It's not about getting ripped off, overcharged or losing money. It's about Hex representatives (officially or otherwise) abusing loyal fans and fans of different sexual persuasions. The money they are paying the club is not worth splitting the fan base.
You’ve missed a hell of a lot out there from what I said. I only suggested that a holding statement, saying very little, wasn’t needed (in my view) if a much more detailed announcement was due around 24 hours later. That really is how PR crisis management works at times (have you seen the disasters my company has had recently?). A beige holding statement that said nothing, could, and likely would, have irked more supporters than it needed to if you’re due to release something punchier imminently. I’d be disappointed if we haven’t had something on the official channels, or via the local media, by this time tomorrow. Not sure that’s being contrary is it?
