What are your thoughts on it @Loko the Tyke ?

I was very careful not to include the word Barnsley in my retweet just so I didn't get bombarded by 'Hexicans'!
It doesn't fill me with confidence that enough due diligence was done and I don't think it's a good association for the club to be making.

In the main I'm aligned with the BFCST statement we put out, around further questions, clarity, explanations, etc. I don't see a way this can move forward, but I also don't understand the situation we're in contractually either. My biggest opposition to this is the individual with the more than questionable tweets.

There's a more complex level to this too for me personally, that is far too difficult a conversation to have in written word where tone and intention can be easily mistaken or ignored.

I think the level of detail in that Twitter thread is beyond the knowledge held by anyone at the club (understandably) who seem to have taken the offer in good faith.
Like you say, it seems contractually murky and I think it's a case of damage limitation for the club moving forward.

I got as far as Martin in researching Digital Ventures Association Ltd. An inactive company in Belize basically. And searching who owns the domain hasn't helped so far. But I'll find them.

This is so heart breaking. How on earth could the club get entangled with such an organisation.? It's shameful.

It shouldn't be. I found it in 20 minutes. This Twitter post is good, but there have been equally as good posts on this BBS explaining this just as well if not better.

I wish I understood more about how businesses work. I'm damn good at finding stuff (if I do say so myself), it's just whether I'd understand what I find in this case that's the problem.

All you need to find at the moment is anything that links a commercial organisation with Hex.com

The lie that this is all community funded can then be forgotten. Because it isn't, there's a business behind it and businesses have to operate within laws.

It is mate. Just when you think the club has a fresh start and things to look forward to (new Head Coach who is widely regarded, new board members engaging with the fans, good season ticket sales etc. etc.) and then we end up with this. I wish we had stayed sponsorless, I really do.

Yeah not to forget a decimation of a squad and barely replacing them, yes inevitable players would leave but looks like no effort was made to keep them.
I slightly regretted not renewing for the first time in years but I’m content now I could see the way the club was going even with this alleged new board that seem no different ( except the signing of Norwood).

It’s an absolute embarrassment. I was expecting bumps along the way this season. I wasn’t expecting this level of sheer incompetence.

An avenue to go down might be previous sponsorship deals and the different 'spokespeople'. At the moment, whoever owns the Hex.com domain is effectively our sponsor given that's what is on the shirts.

The 'community' came together to raise $600k to sponsor a Nascar drive earlier this year. Whether that was a true figure or not I'd be sceptical of.

And an American Football team in Madrid here (random!).

    https://ososrivas.com/2022/01/02/hex-new-osos-main-sponsor/

Also a video here where the 'community' discuss what sponsorship opportunities might exist in the future, like Red Bull. Haven't watched it but is one of the guys from the other day.

2020 when they advertised on London buses and in newspapers.

In my opinion 'decimation' is way over the top. I fully expected Collins, Styles, Helik and perhaps Anderson to have gone by now. Apparently, we have turned down bids for Styles and Helik and it is clear they want to go, so hopefully we get good bids for both before the window is out.

We have also signed Norwood, as you mention, the young lad from Man City who may come good, and Connell, who looks like a good prospect. Also, Cadden, Cundy and McCarthy, who need to prove themselves.

As for the ones who have gone, it is quite clear Callum-wantaway-Brittain has the heart of a pea who, when the chips were down last year, seemed to blame everyone but himself. Good riddance to the lad.

It was time for Cauley come-and-sit-up-ere Woodrow to go, having had a difficult and disappointing season last year by all accounts. A loyal servent to the club, a great asset over his spell with us, but time for both parties to part ways. A new start for him and much-needed cash for us.

As for Morris, we needed to raise more money at least, and he wanted to play in the Champ. A no-brainer that we weren't going to keep him.

It is difficult to convince a player to stay when he wants to leave. You can see with Styles now (and I'm sure it applies to Helik) that his heart may not be in it any more. I am surprised Collins has stayed after saving us so many times last season, and Collins should be commended for his professionalism and commitment to the club. He could still leave, but while he's here he gives his all. But Styles, if he doesn't want to be here should go, same for Helik. Not much the club can do..

I know it is tempting to bash the club with a stick at every opportunity after the omnishambles of last season. But we need some balance - the club deserves praise for the appointment of Duff. The signings obviously need to prove themselves, like any new signings. I do see the board as 'new' in a sense because it is a new board. Chien and Conway aren't on it. I get the impression that some people - the 'new board, same as the old board' folks - think this current board somehow wanted to fool the fanbase into thinking Conway and Lee had been ousted when in reality they are still in the background pulling strings; the way i see it, they are off the board, they aren't involved in any key decisions that the club makes any longer. This is a good thing.

I had hope, I have defended the club and Khaled as recently as a couple of months ago, but with this latest development ('Hex') we are starting to look calamitous despite appearing to want to fix things. It's disappointing and exhausting. I hope things work out, and sorry to hear you haven't renewed but totally understandable.

I think the absolute best you can say about the club here is that they have been shockingly naive and/or reckless.

Like some others, I am not "in" with the whole crypto stuff. But looking at these tweets, how can we have got sponsorship from something that is not an entity with no obligations to anyone or any law? Screenshot_2022-08-10-13-33-54-45_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg
