Hoping it dies down isn’t putting it front and centre on a video like that. They’re cashing in on it. The more controversy there is the more engagement they get on their social media platforms. It’s a big laugh to them.
Presumably the club will have a deal where it makes money from the success of Hex and cashes in too. Otherwise (the bad publicity aside) I can't see what it has to gain from a company that deals in magic beans.
I assume you mean the sponsor on the footer of the video? That's what has been agreed in the sponsorship contract I believe.
I'll watch it again later, but I thought that Yashdeep & Identity Block, (the two guys on the video that spoke), along with Kuqi Couture were the ones that put in money, Kuqi having the majority input. Brent just got them together and introduced them to BFC as potential investors? Might be wrong.
Well, I hope it’s worth their while. They can either stand with the fans or the scams and it’s pretty clear which side they are taking. They did the same with trying to get clicks from the American audience when we had DK but at least that wasn’t us against them, it was just obviously OTT and a bit embarrassing. No one was being abused or scammed and everyone was friends. This is a completely different kettle of fish.
I suppose if we are contractually obliged then we don't have a choice. It's a lesson learned in being careful who you get into bed with i suppose. When the contract is signed, it's too late, evidently. What a thing to be associated with.
Watching that has boiled my piss far more than I expected. Since when did our sponsorships extend to having their logo's splashed across media footage like that? Presumably it's some kind of contractual obligation built into the deal but, given the various concerns rightly being expressed by fans, it feels like we're being laughed at during a period when we're awaiting something more than a holding statement coming from the club.
We don’t know that we are contractually obliged though, that was just someone’s guess and it’s being repeated as a fact. They are front of shirt sponsors. We haven’t got any of the other many sponsors we have plastered on the front of a random Twitter video, just the one that it attracting a lot of attention from their followers. If Pukka Pie fans were spamming our Tweets I bet it would have been their logo across the front of the video.
I might be wrong as well mate as only watched it once, but I didn't interpret it like that. I think Brent was mentioned in the chat, along with Yashdeep, and then Kuqi was actually in the chat. Might have another go at it tonight. Yashdeep did say his financial contribution was really minor though.
Separating the issue with Hex.com as a sponsor for a second and bringing it down to the basics of a contractual sponsorship agreement. We have to fulfil, right now, what was contractually agreed. Otherwise, rather than us speaking to lawyers about ending the contract (like many supporters want) it will be them speaking to lawyers about us being in breach of the agreement. The club are snookered on this particular one. I've repeated many times that this isn't a case of us being able to just walk away in a matter of days. In the meantime, before whatever happens next, we've got no option but to stick to our side of the agreement.
I hope the club sack this Hex off just to shut everyone up from ******* moaning, Jesus Christ!!! It’s 35* outside, dip y’a bits n Bob’s in bairns paddling pool, treat yourself to a solero or a magnum, stick some tunes on and relax.......
I know, it's bizarre. And infuriating. Not so bizarre if we are contractually obliged, but still infuriating. It feels like a sucker punch. And it looks like we are stuck with them. I won't be buying the shirt this year anyway, 100%. And I won't engage with the hexicans, ever. And i won't be taken in by Brent Morrissey's faux charm and empty words.
What is our agreement though? As front of shirt sponsors I expect to see their logo on the front of our shirts. I’ve not seen any announcement that they are front of random Twitter video sponsors. I want to know whether that was something that was specifically agreed and paid for and we couldn’t get out of or whether it was the club’s choice to boost engagement to the detriment to our fans.
