They did one a few hours ago and included it but it was right in the top corner, at least that wasn’t so in your face.

Maybe it's just league cup? Maybe the terms hadn't been communicated in time at the weekend, and posting the Thomas one without the logo triggered a reminder?

So many possibilities and eventualities. But I'll tell you one that is extremely unlikely - the club have done this deliberately to stir up a reaction from somewhere, which is what your accusation is.

It’s a completely normal and routine in marketing these days to have number of social posts and sometimes specific wording written into contracts. We wouldn’t do this of our own volition - why would we? It’s 100% a contractual obligation. But, as mentioned previously, I suspect the decision to put it on the video rather then tag them directly is ours. That would give Hex less visibility and reach (you can’t click the overlay in the video to go to their site/account) and would prevent the video showing up on Twitter searches for Hex, reducing the amount of hexican idiots commenting on it.

Whatever the reason, it’s notable that there’s hardly any Barnsley fans commenting on a Barnsley goal video. As soon as the Hex lot turn up Barnsley fans are drowned out and hardly seem to be interacting at all anymore.

Let’s hope so. At the very least I hope they put it back in the corner so it’s less obtrusive. It’s horrible seeing this scam plastered over everything in everyone’s faces; people are going to end up falling for it.

Aren't most deals beyond that of just a shirt sponsor or just a box/stand sponsor? There's always other elements tied in to sponsorship deals, such as perimeter advertising, x number of match balls a season, one box a season, programme features, website articles, logo placements, newsletters to the database, social posts, etc.

It's never just the shirt. And I say this as someone who's received a dozen or so of these sponsorship proposals in the last few months. Different sponsors take different things from the 'shopping list', as it were. So I wouldn't be diving too much in to the detail of the deal being worth more than it is paying, as it might be what we've given away (that we potentially couldn't find a sponsor for anyway), we've got back somewhere else.

Agree with the reach sentiment though.

That maybe the case and we can no doubt all agree that's frustrating. But you're initial accusation was to accuse people at the club of doing this deliberately, which I don't think was fair, accurate, or based on any kind of evidence of likeliness.

When they are terrible at communicating and slow to react to fans facing abuse then that’s on them if people start to think badly of them. When they do something to make me think highly of them again I will do. Spectemur Agendo.

    That's the crux for me.

It's like they've read the feedback over the last 48 hours, and after popping the logo in the top corner in the last few videos they've thought "let's go big and central" just to poke the bear a bit more.

It stinks. I feel so separate from our club at the minute. Getting into bed with a Ponzi scheme run by Anti-semitic Homophobes.

If the contract states that we can't walk away from what surely is a breach (unless said contract states that said sponsors can be racist bellends on social media) then Khaled should resign immediately or be sacked.

Ok. I personally would have gone with 'Yep. Hands up. Maybe I jumped the gun on this one and let my frustration at those in senior positions get to me. I wasn't accusing the day to day people at the club of doing things deliberately to wind up supporters'.

Can you recall any embedded logo placement like this in anything we've issued previously? It feels new to me and, assuming so, its value is far greater than the types of things you've listed, which typically have a localised reach.

Perhaps I've missed something similar in the past, but it's so noticeable (in a "doesn't belong here" kind of way similar to hearing canned laughter) that I'd have thought I would have recalled it.

NB: In a bizarre side-twist, while typing the above I've just had the "A1 Ace Taxis Man Of The Match" announcement pop up into my head, so whatever they paid for that deal back in the day was beyond value!

No, you wouldn’t, you’d keep arguing and trying to get the last word. I also said I didn’t think they were trying to wind up supporters but that they were actually trying to attract Hex fans but you keep twisting it.

I would imagine our previous sponsors simply weren't clued up enough to ask for it.
Marketing is all Hex is. It's a huge marketing campaign to get people to buy a worthless entity. So they'll know exactly where they want their product placing. Let's hope we were aware of how much that was worth. As we're inexperienced, not having done much of this before, I have my doubts.

I'm just pointing out the reality of sponsorship deals in sports/events, as someone who gets them regularly put in front of me. It looked weird in the top corner, because it caught your eye on filtered in and out against the background. Take away who the sponsor is, and I don't mind it in that central position.

Going back to it being HEX though, I'd want more eye balls online than at the games. It's a digital currency (or not) so the 'at home' (as in Oakwell) benefits are hardly worth it.

If you check QPR's Twitter feed they have the Convivia logo in the bottom right hand corner of every tweet. Far less obvious than Hex.com, but still there none the less.

EDIT - not every tweet, as not on videos, but looks like every still image. QPR logo top left and Convivia logo bottom right

To be fair although the Club has probably been advised to stick to the contract whilst investigations/negotiations continue I'm not sure what exactly Hex would do if we were to omit the logo from a couple of videos in the meantime.

I can imagine it would make exit negotiations a touch trickier. You're trying to exit a contract that you're not abiding to would likely make those negotiations frostier and less amicable. If you're sticking to your obligations, then those negotiations become a slightly bit easier in terms of getting to a mutual resolution.

An alternative interpretation would be continuing the branding suggests that if Hex doesn't agree an exit then the club will probably abide by its contractual obligations and just hex everything up for the remainder of the season, thereby disincentivising Hex from letting them off the hook.
