Almost as good as your dig at folk on here eh. Now go back into your slumber. Oh, you can like this if you want DB2K but I doubt it
I said his measure’s were widely praised meaning all of his handling of the Global pandemic, not just the gold
He/she won’t, they rarely post and only then is when he/ she can have a dig at Labour. Straw clutching is the only thing they have
This. x100. We are facing a true crisis this winter. People will die and go hungry. Gordon Brown has a plan, a vision, about how to meet this challenge. Looking at some responses in this thread it’s easy to see how far we’ve sunk when some choose bickering and factionalism. Minds conditioned by years of Tory grooming to respond only to three-word slogans. I couldn’t care less care if Gordon Brown was Labour, Conservative, Liberal or a man from Mars. As KFC says he’s outlining ‘concrete action without political grandstanding, empty rhetoric or the stoking of culture wars.’ Then again he's not as funny as Boris, so maybe not.
That's what I love about this site say or do anything against the grain, against what they want you to say and you are attacked and told to go away. But then in the next thread it will be how the bbs is lovely and one big happy family who loves everyone.... aslong as it conforms to what we say...... pathetic!
Why should I tell you anything about me when I know I will just get attacked for the way I vote. Vile people on here who chat about peace and love but rip people to shreads if they dare say anything that doesn't conform to what the masses on here agree with!!!
Are you saying that you should be able to say you love the Tories (for example) but people are not allowed to reply saying they hate the Tories? Free speech involves everyone freely giving their opinion. If more people have one opinion than the other then you’re going to hear that opinion more times. Are people supposed to not give a reply because someone else gave a similar one? What’s free speech about that?
I have no desire to attack you but I would like to ask a question. You seem to be stating you vote conservative - as is your right. Can I ask, as your profile name and details suggest you are a shop worker from Brampton who is slightly older than me but of a similar vintage - what makes you do that? Which of their values do you think leads to a better running of the country to the benefit of people such as yourself? Genuine question here.
I’ve always enjoyed listening to the, usually sensible, opinions of former senior politicians on both sides, be it Miliband, Brown or Major. I’m never sure why the bunch in power, whoever they are, are always so risible compared to the ex-politicians talking sense. There’s something rotten at the heart of politics that seems to turn well-meaning individuals into populist tossers.
JD you're one of the most erudite posters on this site but I would question that 'free speech' is acceptable on this site. Recent thread about 'taking the knee' - one regular poster not happy about doing that - immediately labelled a racist and guy apologises. I voted Leave* - been labelled a Tory racist. - Ongoing thread where someone has been called to account as to why he supports Tories. Regular poster posts a message supporting Khaled - he gets loads of personal abuse because of this. I too 'stuck up' for Khaled at one point - 3 personal messages from a very regular poster threatening me with legal action I suggested Higgy/Hemsy was yellow carded rather than banned - personal abuse followed - you can check this. * not happy with being aligned with Pres Orban of Hungary (Putin's mate) and Morowiecki Polish PM.(gay persecution) --------- What is happening on this site is that if you toe the party line on all the above and other issues you're o.k. Challenge them and you'll be abused personally - or put bluntly you may be bullied into silence. There is no 'free speech' on this site.
Agreed. I was always impressed by Michael Heseltine. If he'd become PM instead of Thatcher I wonder how things would have gone. A while ago saw a clip from a TV debate between Kinnock and Thatcher that was well reasoned and civil. Both looked like intellectual giants compared to the swivel-eyed, power-crazed chancers we've got today.
Oh, I know there’s not and I’m not a fan of free speech personally. I mentioned it because it’s always the people complaining that they can’t say whatever they want to say unchallenged who moans about other people being allowed to say whatever they want to say. It’s very, very rare anyone gets banned on here and it’s generally for a serious reason. People, pretty much, can say what they want and people can say what they want back to them. If someone says something unpopular then they get a lot said back to them, it’s just how it goes.
Free Speech usually involves making some kind of sweeping statement based on no evidence, then when challenged, they moan about 'pile-ons' and bullying. Folk have politely asked what Tory Values Brampton Tyke is a fan of - but there's been no reply to that. Instead the toys were thrown far and wide. As for Labour? I get why people criticise them. People are fair game to pick holes in actions from the party. But to then vote Tory instead? The mind boggles.
Perhaps, it’s not the way you vote that’s a problem for some, but the fact that you don’t attempt to defend it, and take cheap pops at Labour voters on here and claim they they’ll attack you. I suggest you take this line because you can’t defend the party you vote for. The only part of vile that come’s into this is Tory party and the way it acts, but you continue with your Nasty Labour voters in here line. Oh, and it’s an absolute piss take that you use Brampton in your Title given the location of where CortonWood pit was.
I get why people criticise the Labour Party, I certainly do as it’s currently not the party I’d like it to be. However, I acknowledge that they need to be more United if this **** shower of a govt is to be removed.
As another poster from Brampton, probably Brexit with or without the racism. Either through years of conditioning through the various newspapers or hearing (but not listening) to the words of Farage et al.
you're possibly not the person I should be asking as you don't resort to personal attacks ! You say people can say what they want .... Is it acceptable for posters to make offensive or personal attacks on fellow posters who they disagree with?
