Best thing about both of them tonight (and it would be easy to say the goals, but Cole scored a worldy last season against Barrow yet he was utterly gash) was the work rate. Benson kept driving forward and Cole actually won some challenges and ran into space. If they do that people will applaud them and good things will happen. Put in the effort and you'll get returns. Agree with your point about the management/coaching too.
Last season he had covid twice and had a couple of serious injuries and he got pilloried. Being patient with players quite often is the answer if you know they have potential. Getting on their backs all the time will never make a footballer a better player. All credit to Josh and MD in this case.
At Barnsley? Don't be daft. Minute 4 of 2nd game, that bloke who sits a couple of rows behind you: 'Tha sh!te, Player X, get him off Manager!' Bet it's mint for confidence when the majority of our team are under 23.
Looks like we have a coach who wants us to shoot from distance rather than the last few who wanted us to score the perfect goal. 3 deflected goals that would not have been attempted last season.
also I dont know if we have been practicing shooting but a lot more of the long range shots are on target rather than sailing high and wide
