I think this. I suspect he's not far from recovering & if he can play a game or two before the window shuts that may be enough for him to be sold.

Agree if we can't move him on him and Andersen are our best two defenders, but you don't drop defenders if they've kept a clean sheet. Helik could come on for last 30 mins when fit though to rest one.

 

TBH, I’m not convinced he is actually injured.
Nothing to support it just a hunch.

 

Doesn't make him very saleable if he's not playing though, unless a deal is already done?

 

Would have thought anyone interested in him would have based it on last couple of years, can’t see a couple of games clinching a deal.
Fully expecting him to leave towards end of window.

 

It’s difficult. Do we need him based on his replacements’ performances so far this season?

They said he was carrying a knock when he came back from Poland which delayed his involvement in pre-season.

Then he came on as a sub in the last pre season game and bossed it, presumably because there was no interest at that point.

Then he was 'injured' again, presumably because some interest came about. My guess is he remains 'injured' because there are some clubs in contact about him but yet to make a firm move.

If we get to 1st September without an acceptable bid, I expect to see him cease being 'injured'

According to YP Helik is still weeks away. Makes me question whether we can sell him in this window. If we can't that leaves us with few options for signings, other than cheap loan deals....

 

I'm half and half. If an injury is only keeping a player out less than a month, 9 times out of 10 he'll still pass a medical. I'd like to think Helik, as a bloke, wouldn't pretend to be injured just so he doesnt have to play for us. Afterall, as cliche as it is, we have put him in the shop window, made him a full international, by giving him the chance to play over here. I'm by no means taking credit away from him, his performances garnered his rewards - but as I said, I'd be quite shocked if he's just refusing to play for us.

 

According to Duff in an interview yesterday, he’s had a scan which showed a grade 2 whatever you call it. So he can’t be faking it.

 

I doubt he’s refusing to play but the club may not to wish injury if there’s a few clubs bidding on him

 

I thought Duff said no clubs were though?
