Looks way off pace to me. Can’t see him fitting into this team. Makes our need for two strikers even greater.
He’s shown flashes of quality and his goal scoring record speaks for itself, but undoubtedly he’s been poor so far. I think he’ll come good once he’s match fit.
I thought he put his self about quite a bit on tuesday when he came on & for me no real goal scoring opportunity has fallen his way yet but when he buries his first goal more will follow , I personally like the look of him , he roughs up defenders & takes the physical burden off such as Marsh & is certainly a plus for the squad .
I agree with the last two posts. A bit of experience is essential up front for Marsh and Atchinson to learn from.
Think we've signed Norman Pitkin. Every game he seems to find a new and more elaborate way to trip himself up and land on his face.
Why do people on here make snap decisions on a player after a couple of games,he's obviously not match fit yet, last year it was Benson they called. It took Ronnie Glavin 6 months to get playing properly and Connor hourihane wasn't even a regular starter his first year, would you have wrote these off as well
Hourihane made 45 league starts and 1 sub appearance in his first season with us, scoring 13 league goals.
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Duff said that in the last 10 minutes of each half, we didn't do as he asked. I think in the 2nd half, that meant we'd gone a lot more direct by the time Norwood came on. I recall him having the ball at his feet once, and he tried to beat 3 men, he almost managed it. Every other ball was over his head, and he was chasing down the goalkeeper and defenders. With the size of him, that isn't his game at all. Against Cheltenham he was marked out of the game. I don't see him being a 20 goal striker, but I'm going to reserve judgement until we've played a game to his strengths.
I was quite pleased when we signed him as he’s got badly needed experience and a decent scoring record. It’s his fitness that I’m questioning, just looks well off pace at moment.
"never be a footballer as long as he's a hole in his ar*e" "Stealin a living" "Be better off sittin in the stands wi me" "Me grannie's a better footballer and she's been dead 10 years" I guarantee it.
True but Gawber is right , Hourihane made a slow start to his career with us as did many others including King Ronnie
