We beat Bristol Rovers & Cheltenham, but struggling against top half teams. u Unless Duff is allowed to bring in 3-4 new players by the end of the window then a lower mid table finish is most likely. We need to try & offload Helik, Styles & Iseka. Players such as Wolfe, Hondermark, Cole aren’t good enough
Reading posts recently about the concourse service, stewards, open day etc and of course seeing the level of inconsistency, inability to move players and lack of quality in current squad seems we are competent at being incompetent. Near mind, be reight.
WTF was Duff thinking trying to out long ball a long ball team? Keep it on the floor which worked so well the other night FFS. We got outschooled today in a performance just as bad as the worst we saw last season.
If we don't sign some players sharpish it won't matter if we've got Paul Daniels in dugout. One mediocre season on the cards.
This division is a graveyard, and we've just entered the gates, the board and Mr Duff had better identify and purchase/loan better players quick sticks or the body of BFC will be buried here for years.
Nothing to do with coaching today , the nonchalant attitudes of the sidelines went with Schopp and the cluelessness went with Poya . This wasn’t a Duff inspired performance judging his previous record . This was purely a player infused can’t be arsed attitude , no coach affords the room Wycombe wanted and received, that second half they should all have their money stopped because they weren’t playing foootbsll .
We do need better players but the players we've signed so far have lowered the quality of the squad. I'm actually worried that we might sign someone rather than we won't.
We will sign two loans from the premier academy and that's your lot. They will say they tried but couldn't get them over the line(which means we aren't competing on wages)!
While I'm inclined to agree with you, the fact that Duff didn't use all the subs available contradicts that view. It's one thing not to bring on a sub because you don't believe the replacement is a better player and therefore won't improve things. Looking at our bench I have some sympathy with this. But if a manager, a human being like the rest of us, sees a player who he doesn't believe to be trying he replaces him. We'd all do that. Quick sharp with our blood boiling. Duff didn't, which makes me believe he didn't think that was the problem.
That's the word - "compete". We did not earn the right to play with the ball - they were all over us. They took it off us, and they were off. Not all teams (e.g. Bristol Rovers) can play like Wycombe. Sometimes we can move it quickly and keep momentum. Not today. I hope there's an element of complacency from Tuesday in how we played today. Cos if there isn't, and we don't get more power up top, we might be really struggling this season.
I’m clutching at straws but I fear I may drown tbh . Imo Williams was rubbish but it was an honest display tgevothets were just cowards .
I have the same view as you. I'm just a little bit worried that our manager's actions didn't suggest he thought there was a lack of application. We won't really be able to judge by the starting lineup of the next game either as it's the cup which would more than likely have resulted in changes whatever the result today. And after getting battered by Leeds there'll be further changes to a losing side.
Thought we were the better team until they scored the first goal and from then on they old maned us and dominated the second half . McCleary Mawson Scowen ran the show and although you could say Collins was too far off his line for their 2nd goal i personally thought they scored 3 brilliant goals.
