I did go there once for a free showing but I was up on the balcony bit (Leeds one) which is just a row of seats similar to football stadium ones, if I remember correctly, and the film that was supposed to be a 15 was horrific (amongst other things, a paralysed from the bottom down man was being stabbed repeatedly in the legs and being mockingly asked if he could feel it) and I left halfway though. I do know that it’s supposed to be a really nice place though and my husband has been with work and liked it.
Some good pop up free streaming sites around there is no issues with. No need to download add ons either.
The Electric in Birmingham does that. Once went with a girl and she suggested one - neither of us realised that the sofas were that weird leather type. I'm one of life's fidgeters anyway, and I was terrified to even move because of the squeaking, let alone try anything else.
Pretty much watch most of the new releases. got the cineworld unlimited card, have had it for a good few years now. £15.99 per month. So if we go 3 times a month which is easy, I'd say it's decent value. Had been going to white rose as it's far nicer than the wakey one or sheffield. but the Barnsley one will have all the latest seating etc.
Brings back memories of renting a film or 'going for a video' as we called it. But eventually the vhs video and then Dvd rental shops disappeared one by one, because of home entertainment.
Video and DVd were home entertainment so no real benefit by hiring them as opposed to streaming. It was inevitable they,d die out. Cinema is a different experience entirely and quite cheap compared to other forms of entertainment like sport and music.
I used to like going to the pictures in Wakey back in the 70s, but Ive hardly gone at all since then. I think the last few I saw were James Bond Skyfall, and White noise 2.
We enjoy going to the cinema quite regularly. But we always use Vue. £5.99 at Vue Meadowhall and then come out and eat at Chow Baby. What's not to like. Cineworld is too expensive.
N Can’t think anyone is going to buy out a company with 4b of debt that doesn’t make money, and has no prospects of making money. I may of course be completely wrong (I doubt it), but the stock was 4p last time I looked if you fancied their chances and are brave... Better value elsewhere (anywhere and everywhere?)
No prospect of making money? I reckon they could make a lot of money. My guess is they will buy themselves under a different company name. Wipe off the debt and essentially start again
