Worth pointing out, the ladies team only became part of Lincoln a couple of years ago, prior to that Nettleham Ladies was one of the earlier teams playing and were very successful.
The became part of the club as a result of
    a) Being part of the National leagues and needing better infrastructure.
    b) Part of the new owners strategy of trying to build a community club.

I guess this was primarily what struck me in the first place. It would be nice if our owners had a similar strategy.

Surely though it would be for the Barnsley ladies to approach our owners if they wanted to come under the BFC ownership as it appear Lincon did when they needed to move up the pyramid , if it is true that they are hoping for facilities at Hoyland Common then I get the impression they would prefer to remain independent unless I am getting hold of the wrong end of the stick .

Barnsley Ladies aren't trying to gain facilities at Hoyland, that's Barnsley Women.

Who knows what discussions either team have had with the club, but for me I'd see it as a positive step for BFC to proactively build a women's team within the club rather than at arms length.

Barnsley women and Barnsley ladies are 2 different clubs.
I believe the Women play at wombwell. With no links to the club. And I will stand corrected play at a higher level than the ladies.
The ladies have close ties to the club. (To what degree? Anyones guess)

I heard that the split was partly/mainly due to BFC insisting that any funding for the ladies had to go through the main club. In other words Barnsley ladies couldn't claim any grants or funding for themselves as BFC demanded to take them as parent club. For that reason those in charge of the ladies team said up yours and changed to Barnsley women completely separate and started claiming funding.

Only what I heard of course.

The odd part in it all is that one of the key people at Barnsley women is Steve gates who was a Barnsley employee for years wasn't he? I'm sure he was a scout for the club.
Him and Steve maddock took over Barnsley ladies in 2018. In 2019 they split from BFC completely, changed the name and badge and refused to have anything to do with the club. At the time I think the reason given was that they didn't like the name Barnsley ladies and wanted to use Barnsley women but the club refused.
