Sometimes opportunities come up in gardening/horticulture/ land estate work, there are sometimes traineeships and adult apprenticeship's.
That'd be great, cheers. Hope all is well. Yeh, I see a few but I just can't afford to take the pay cuts. I'm only on 24k, which isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, and can never find anything near that sort of money that I could go for.
Look at jobs with Guide Dogs, you’ve just missed the latest Academy recruitment drive but keep an eye out for future ones. If you’re in Barnsley the closest is probably Leeds but they have all sorts of other roles involving dogs and people. Here’s what the Academy involves for example from a recent job posting for a different area: https://charitypeople.uk/guidedogs/
Hi Pinball, yes that's the big problem in the UK, wages, even in the South they are barely livable. I'm 61 and at the end of my work life,I have calculated that I need to work at least 2 more years, then I could retire on what I have until my State pension kicks in. That is all determined by the govt sorting out the cost of living crisis, life in the UK is unaffordable for around 60% of the population. We/I don't want tax cuts,I want to be able to afford to buy food, petrol, pay my utility bills. I feel for younger people, this country has no plan and offers no hope, stuck in a never ending cycle of decay overseen by a out of touch elite, who don't give a damn.
