Do you understand how shots on goal work? If 3 are in the top corner and the keeper doesn’t save any that doesn’t make them bad. If there are 10 shots that are all straight at them and they save them all it doesn’t mean they have had a good game.
Cole did OK tonight, he just needed someone at the side of him to do the donkey work, unfortunately Norwood turned up in fancy dress, he came has Dave Regis.
He sounds like an American posting on a UK soccer board. We had a couple of nice plays but the goal tender should have done better with the 4 SOT.
Feels a bit like some supporters are forgetting Leeds are two divisions above us these days. We’ve got no right on League position and squad value alone to be even in the game with them, but we held our own, battled hard, and despite our limitations against multi-million pound players we tried to make things happen. It didn’t come off for us going forward at all, and I agree that Norwood was disappointing, but Cole put a shift in and Benson looks a million miles away from the player we had last season despite who he was up against. Let’s be real here. Leeds dominated possession, as they should or as you’d expect, but other than a brilliant one on one save from Walton they weren’t peppering our goal or creating chance after chance. That was down to our shape, our organisation, and how we fought the whole game. There’s things we could have done better, or smarter, but I don’t fall out with that performance and effort at all. Missed a penalty to go in 2-2 and should have had another penalty to make it 2-2 in the second half. My gripes would be with Norwood’s contribution, but against tough opposition, and I thought the penalty we gave away was really amateur from McCarthy. Felt like a struggle for Helliwell tonight too but he’ll learn from playing in front of 35,000 people. As an aside. Leeds fans must be the stupidest in the country. What was that shoe off if you hate Man U thing? And why do they struggle with chants that contain more than three words? What a joke.
General consensus was that Leeds would comfortably win, but it was hoped we'd at least give them a game. That's exactly what happens & folk still find something to gripe about. A psychologist would have a field day with some of you lot. It makes me chuckle...
Just got in really enjoyed that, great game of football, just glad Leeds dint field a stronger team, nice to see Norwood and Tadic, C,O,Y,R,
Probably the better team before a exellent strike, then heads dropped and a stupid challenge no need. Looked like a hammering was on the cards then scored against the run of play, the pen goes in and its anyones game. 2nd half was poor. Norwood very poor.
My little boys first away game, cracking atmosphere he loved it. Asked if we could stay until the end to clap them off.
Big time. Do you think Man Utd sing about Leeds when they’re sauntering to a 3-1 home win against League One opposition? No. Because they’re not a tinpot fan base. In the bin.
Superb. Bet he loved seeing us play in front of a crowd like that. You might need to set the scene for someone like Accrington away though mate!
No shame in Accrington away, went last time and an excellent awayday. Lovely set of fans, standing up to watch a reds win, great atmosphere in pubs/bar in ground
Likewise. Although you vanished in the second half so thought I might have been too bold with my opening comment!
