    Average of less than 2 a game hardly seems excessive to me. What is the usual average for a season?

    Last season was 86 from 49 games....

    Yes because there isn't an in between option. It's either don't challenge to avoid bookings or challenge and be booked. If only there was an option of tackling in a way you don't get a card.
