It's a group based system for the first round so we can't be knocked out tomorrow. It doesn't matter if we lose 10-0 tomorrow we will still have to play another few games in this competition anyway. We do need to rotate and give some of the fringe players a run out though for sure, give them a chance to show what they can do.
Another great point, did'nt put a reight lot a thought into mi origonal post, but yer spot on its a great opertunity to give the fringe players some quality football time
Hope he starts Norwood and Tedic' Norwood for much needed match fitness and Tedic to give him a chance to show what he's got ' he may end up being a real asset..
Certainly wouldn’t be going out to play any first teamers in this tin pot trophy. Any usual cup rules regarding strength of teams surely went out of the window when they let under 21 teams in. League and Fa cup all in, but not this.
There was a post other week asking what fans thought we'd get in the next three League games listing them Ipswich, Portsmouth then Sheff Wed. That's what's thrown me .
You have to play at least four players that started your last game or who you intend to start in the next game otherwise a fine applies.
If we were top of the league and the Head Coach knew his best 11. I'd play a mostly reserve side. However, players such as Norwood and Tedic need game time. I'd go strong in this fixture and hopefully build some momentum.
Theres naay chance of that happening kid lol, nobdy wants to win this Uncle John's plastic fizzy pee pot compo.
