I enjoyed the first two episodes as much as the Sunderland documentary series. I think it's because you're watching a big club fail. Two episodes got released yesterday around the half hour mark and two more every Thursday will be released up to apparently 16 episodes. You get to hear from some players including our old keeper Christian Dibble. How much is translated is amusing as is the subtitles when scouser Paul Rutherford speaks. It's funny seeing the two new owners trying to get to grips as yanks with the idea that teams in a sport can actually be promoted or relegated.

    Ryan Reynolds is actually Canadian.

This show has more than paid off their investment. Genius move on their part.

Not even shirt sales though as that's minor in the grand scheme of things. This is a three/four series opportunity that Disney will have paid millions for.

They paid £2m for the club but will have got that back ten fold within the next 18 months I reckon. Shirt sales money will go back in to the football club unless they start paying themselves dividends, which I doubt they will.

Just watched first 2 episodes. Good watch. Could see how the people of Wrexham see the club as most Barnsley fans. A sense of it being more a fabric of their community rather than just a business where they watch football.
Another former mining area struggling to recover as well.

Some of the more comedy moments in it also made it an enjoyable watch, especially around the 2 new owners knowing nothing about football and comparing what would happen if the Philly Eagles got relegated etc. Looking forward to the next episode.

The young lad who's on there with his mum Jordan Davies scored 16 goals in 40 games last season as a winger. Surprised nobody as took a gamble on him in the higher divisions ie Barnsley FC

what! Are you really saying Wrexham will get £20m in the next 18 months from Disney alone. I find that hard to believe but wow. Where does this info come from?

I'm talking about the owners not Wrexham. They'l have sold the rights to Disney and I can see it being multiple seasons given the popularity of the two and the reach they get - especially if Wrexham have success.

You've taken ten fold literally but I could see them making £10m plus from the TV deal.

would Wrexham own the rights or the owners? I would have thought that Wrexham would.

Tell you what, it's amazing what a bit of forward thinking using their contacts etc can do for the club. Pulled in some great sponsors like TikTok, Expedia, VistaPrint for the home shirt whist we nearly ended up with Pats for Pants.

You would have thought with the type of owners we have their business contact book should have been bursting with possible sponsors. I know Conway and Lee have been put in the Kim Christensen room however, that's the sort of thing they said they could bring to the club. I would have hoped even with them gone Neerav and the JAQ mob would have equally as many contacts and business interests to widen our horizons.

I’m going to say the owners. Their concept as owners, their rights in theory, and them as the stars. The football club benefits from any merch sales or increased sponsorship deals, but the owners are the ones who take the Disney money. I imagine Rob McElhenney would also end up directing/producing, but can’t confirm that without checking IMBD. He did with Always Sunny.

Getting Kid Super as a sponsor at our level is a pretty crazy one. Might not be mainstream like the examples you've given, but then we're not owned by Hollywood actors with a reach that goes a hundred million people wise.

Did you see what Ryan Reynolds sold his Aviation Gin brand for? An American Gin. By a Canadian. But with the best social media reach in spirits.

Yes he will have made a tidy sum from that sale, he wasn't the main shareholder though but even so big bucks. I read that George Clooney did something similar having a third share in a drinks brand that the same company bought for $700mill. They must have some serious cash.

George Clooney did it with Casamigos Tequila. Capturing on the US trend of better tequila.

The Rock is doing similar with tequila, and a few other people have got in to wine, but that won’t produce anywhere near the same returns.
