I had to leave a fb group today of my own accord, I don’t consider myself as a “happy clapper” (and I really don’t like the term either) but the remitting glumness and wait for the club to fail so that people can say “I told you so” has been going on ever since the “snake” was alleged in the coaching staff a few years ago. It’s relatively a much better balance on here on the whole, although at times there are always one or two usual suspects on here (a small minority) that bore me to tears!
Too long in tooth pal. I'll still go to odd game because it's the social aspect and a drink after that I enjoy now .
But who said we did? It was a last minute rumour a few hours before another club sealed the deal, may have been nothing in it at all… chances are, it was a load of baloney if he went to Colchester, don’t you think?
For all we know they could be working hard behind the scenes but it could be the other clubs that are delaying things. Plus not all players identified could be ones who Duff thinks could actually make a difference. My guess is that it is a pretty reactive approach clubs need to take and have to move fast once a player becomes available.
I think you have. Chien lee and Conway got demoted in summer. We have supposed to have got a reds fan as chairman now. . Christ we used to moan at john Dennis but at least he did and still does support the club. These present rulers are just doing it for a pastime. .they want to be called chairman and ceo and whatever title they want but do not seem to want to speculate. And lets face it none of them are without a bob or two
Apparently gone to colchester. Honestly and we can't afford him. Someone at oakwell is taking the Michael
Chien is still a major partner or owner whatever you want to call it . Conway was just a front for some others . I suppose the Aussie lass that now
So you want the owners to plunge us into even more debt? You genuinely think that’s what we should be doing? We’re a Division 3 Club, with gates of <10k and a budget gap running into the millions. We might be a bit $hit at the minute, but I’d rather have a $hit club than no club.
Chien is still a major partner or owner whatever you want to call it . Conway was just a front for some others . I suppose the Aussie lass that no thry had the chance to improve after the championship play offs . We lost val and a number of players . We were still in the black . They then appointed 2 dog **** managers and failed to sack them earlier were enough to give ups a chance to stay up . They then waited 3 month to hire a new one . We are now at the stage where we have poor players in a team that a good coach like duff knows will not get us anywhere near top half of the table . Thecmess revere in as been created by those in charge, albeit most by conway and co but those there now were there when the rot set in. The only way we are going to get back into the championship and profitable again is by investing in the team .
So colchester are a division 4 club with half our gates but they can still sign a player before us something or someone is wrong
maybe it's time for people to start wrangling with the idea that we're just no longer a viable championship club. I know people talk about 'most years in 2nd tier', but that's history. 13 of our last 16 seasons have been in championship. 10 of those we've finished 17th or lower, we've been relegated 3 times and have only finished in the top half once. the reality is we're clinging on by our fingertips, every time we're there. val's season was an anomaly. part of me sometimes actually wonders if that season did more harm than good.
I'm sure if we'd really wanted him - or duff said he thought we really needed yet another midfielder - we would have got him. I suspect we probably didn't go that hard after him, regardless of what that the twitters say.
