"The 23-year-old defender links up with Michael Duff’s squad, moving from Stoke City, having been with the Staffordshire outfit since the age of eight. Making 51 appearances for the Potters across the top two tiers of English football, the right-sided defender joined Fleetwood Town on loan in 2020." https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2022/september/reds-sign-tom-edwards/ The 23-year-old became the Reds’ ninth summer arrival on Thursday, returning to England after spending time across the pond with New York Red Bulls, working under a familiar face to Reds fans in Gerhard Struber. Now the Stafford-born left-back is back on the shores where he was born and can’t wait to get going under Michael Duff and the team at Barnsley. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2022/september/tom-edwards-interview/ Wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out he's actually a central midfielder. Or a wicket keeper. Or a welder. *Probably be edited by the time you click the links
Didn't they used to call em utility players? i bet now its a false 3 bet we snatched the agents hand off when offered a RB snd LB for the price of one.
I think it’s a typo. Everything I’ve read suggests he’s a right back who can play as a central defender.
This all may be true but he’s at least got a bit of experience and games under his belt. We needed full back and we managed to get one so I’m happy with that.
Loves a pub too allegedly according to a Stoke fan. Apparently lost his way a little over the past few years.
