Was an outstanding header, but non-existent marking. We’d be going nuts if we’d conceded that. Proper schoolboy, letting the sub run straight on like that, totally unmarked. Thumping finish though.

Agree 100%. Far too early to write him off. He’s scored goals before. He’ll score plenty for us, and he’ll rough up a few defenders on the way. Compare him to the likes of Schmidt, Miller and other similar light weights and we’ve got what most people ask for in a number nine. That chunky lad that Clarkie signed from Celtic wasn’t up to much at first. Good job the BBS wasn’t around then…

That is such a good point and also it has great comedy value.
For sure, the BBS would have had that chunky fellah packing his bags and on the next train up to Glasgow.
Some would have been saying they'd have happily driven him back.

Exactly. I was excited to see this player who had outscored Kenny Dalglish one season and had a Scottish cap. It was a hell of a coup to get a player with this kind of pedigree to come down south to a Third Division club.

But oh what a disappointing debut at Lincoln - league cup game I think. Ronnie looked unfit and well off the pace and it didn’t get much better in the coming weeks. But then it all clicked and we knew we had an absolute star in the team.

All it needed was a bit of patience all round and it was sure to come good, and it did! That team went from strength to strength, as will this one. We have some very good players on board and once they all get used to each other I can only see us climbing the table.
