I wasnt going to post this on here but with the news about the Queen it ahs somehow changed my mind. My Dad, a long time season ticket holder from the mid 1980's until around 10 years ago when his health started to decline, passed away last Saturday in Barnsley hospital after a long illness. He was a teacher at Darton High School for over 30 years and known to a few of you on this board I think.
Met him only once at the FA Cup semi. Seemed like a lovely chap, and I know those who had him for geography absolutely loved him.
Very sad for you and you family. After a long illness can cause mixed emotions. Relief that he isn’t suffering but still sad he isn’t there anymore it’s never a good time My condolences
Sorry to hear that mate, condolences to you and your family. I hope he heard the result from Hillsbrough before he passed away.
I'm so sorry mate. As you know, your dad taught me at Darton. He and I would talk about Barnsley sometimes too and I'd often see him at games. I'd see you too, although obviously I didn't know it was you at the time. It was my Geography teacher's lad. I once got 100% in a Geography test. I remember your dad just laughing in frustration. There weren't any teachers at Darton who could get me to do any work. And although I didn't write anything down in Geography, at least, unlike in other lessons, I listened to your dad. I hope you're OK, give me a shout if you want anything at all, particularly if that's a beer next time you're over.
Sorry to hear this mate. Many Condolences. Losing your Dad is the most difficult thing to contend with. Im always around for a chat mate if you need an ear.
