    I've not insulted a single member of this forum in this thread or in fact a member of the monarchy for that matter.
    The same can clearly not be said for yourself though.
    I'm not entirely convinced that whichever 4 letter word you were going for to describe me entitles you to the moral high ground.

    No he isn't. At worst he's slightly insensitive with his timing but with any other public figure who died I don't think there'd be any issue with people having these discussions or pointing out that there might be shades of grey. I don't understand why the Queen has to be held up as this unimpeachable paragon and you're a **** if you even so much as suggest anything to the contrary.

    Exactly, I think there's more than enough shady stuff she has 'potentially' been involved in that in my opinion I don't think I would class her as a particularly great person.

    People pick and choose their morality.

    Well, for me personally I would say either my parents or grandparents.

    I don't claim to know a huge amount, but in my limited view they were far better people than the queen or anyone else in the monarchy.

    I just can't really get my head around how people can commend someone so closely linked to the Prince Andrew sandal.

    Our country is being led by the worst political party in my lifetime, their actions allowed by there being no feasible alternative party. Politicians are corrupt at worst or inept at best. The house of Lords a nest of self serving corrupt snakes.
    My question therefore is what Republican set up would you like to see because I'm struggling to think of how that would look?

    I dont think prince andrew is relevent right now nor is she responsible for him.... we will still have a energy crisis regardless. Im no big royalist but i liked and had alot of respect for the queen its a sad day for the country. Some of the comments on here are very distasteful i was always brought up on if you have nothing nice to say....

    I've been on this site since the old one shut down so I'm not sure about that.
    On the other point we obviously just have different standards then.
    A comment about wanting to see the end of the monarchy, however inappropriate you may consider the timing worse than some of the racist, sexiest, homophobic and xenophobic stuff I have read on here over the years? That's your opinion and you're entitled to it but we definitely don't agree on that point. :)
