What is the significance of cancelling sporting events . Because they are so called non essential ? they are all businesses/companies are they not many of them if not all of them from the smallest to the biggest i would say are essential especially at this moment in time economy wise. the impact on the hospitality industry, shops, transport, hotels , small businesses around the venues and in the cities and town will be huge. insurance wont cover everything especially outside the actual venues ,even if sporting fixture's have a clause for it in there insurance act of god clause ? if the reason for it is actual people mourning shouldn't all non essential /work be cancelled.
We're planning to visit my son and his wife in Neath (near Swansea) for the weekend in our motorhome. Is everything going to be shut?

There's a certain irony. Stopping people doing everything they enjoy as a matter of respect doesn't induce compassion. Quite the opposite.
Made a profit at Donny today with a nice 14/1 winner but may have to wait a bit to collect it as Ladbrokes is shut tomorrow at least
Well.. I think Scotland should have another vote for independence & join the EU. Then every right minded English person comes to live up there & buys up all the vacant properties?
I got to the Oval bang on 11am at that point England had decided to field and play was due to start at half past 11. We spent most of the afternoon in a pub near Milbank. By 3pm the consensus view was that the best outcome was 14 overs play and our money back. that is the second time I have attended a washed out day at a test match.
I can’t see shops closing. Most retail businesses can’t even give their staff a day off on Boxing Day.
Went to Meadowhall last night after work and a few shops were shut by around 7 - including TK Maxx and a few smaller ones...
