So we tried to sign Conor in the summer and it sounds like he turned it down. Conor you have broken my heart
As much as we'd have loved to see Conor come back, we did the right thing in not breaking our wage structure to sign him.
Duff's presser this week. To be fair he just said that "it didn't work out" rather than CH simply turning us down. No doubt wages were at the heart of it.

Sounds more like we couldn't afford him Conor Hourihane was one we tried to do but we couldn’t. Sometimes we don’t want them, sometimes they don’t want us. Sometimes it just doesn’t fit. Amazing that Derby, who didn't have a penny to scratch their arse with last season, could.
It's rumoured they can offer up to £8k a week to a player. Presumably they did do with Hourihane. There was no way we'd be offering anywhere near that for anyone, considering we were actively trying to reduce the wage budget.
Quite simple. Derby have three times more season ticket holders than us. We struggled to get replica kits available and they will have sold many thousands of them. Just two examples of revenue streams that show why they can afford players we cannot.
It's not quite simple, it shouldn't be allowed, Derby still had three times more season tickets holders when they were millions in debt and unable to pay companies money owed. When a team comes out of administration they should have salary caps put on them for a number of seasons so they don't get into **** again.
