This is a lovely thread. People expressing genuine and heartfelt condolences. Others offering personal and fond memories of someone who clearly touched their lives. And two people discovering each other after many years.

    BBS at its best.

    Hope it's raised a smile @Tyketical Masterstroke

Your dad taught me too, ‘82-84.

He made learning fun, even map reading and average rainfall in Outer Mongolia!

I can still picture where I sat and all the laughs we had. A natural, inspirational teacher and all round great bloke.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

Hill Sheep farming in North Wales was a particular favourite of mine. The knowledge learned there has got me out of a sticky situation a time or two.

Mr F taught both me and our Cunning Stunt.

Nice bloke, he liked us because he knew all our family were BFC fans.

He was my geography teacher for 3 years and although I thought he was brilliant at that, he was even better at pulling you to one side about other stuff. I got into a bit of bother a few years after leaving school and we had a 15 minute chat about it at one of the games at which point he suggested I get my head out of my arse. Advice I duly followed

Thank you so much everyone for all these lovely posts, particularly from everyone who has personal memories, they really do mean so much, and I've showed them to my Mum who also really appreciated them.

I can't articulate how much these replies mean to me.

    Matt.

Reading this thread it sounds like there were many happy times. We all know that eventually, all good things must come to an end, but we never want it to happen. He must have been a good egg, my condolences to you TM.
