but that is only partly right non whites were allowed to work for the royals but only in certain positions, and this was some years ago it has all changed since then. and the monarch could ask for ammendments if they are not convinced the new law is not in the interest of the people but the PM has the last say

Does only allowing minorities to occupy menial positions make it somehow better? Also the royals remain exempt from discrimination laws. Not sure how that amendment was in the interest of the people.

Blimey. Lot of anger and hate in this thread. Think Yoda had it about right.…

You dont think it's right to bring up the fact her favourite son was a kiddie fiddler and that its irrelevant. It's a perfect time to bring it up before everyone gets comfortable praising the family

Didn't you call someone the biggest disgrace in bbs history just for suggesting the monarchy should now end?

Yes. I did. I wasn't angry though. Just pointing out it might be a time for respect. To someone who did their duty.

Maybe people should stop arguing about this. In the space of a week a great guy and a dyed in the wool Barnsley fan died. Someone who wrote fanzines and raised money for charity and went to London to tend Rev Preedy's grave. But way above all that, he was really nice to talk to. Just a really nice man. And it's really upsetting thinking that he's gone, so god knows how Matt (his brother) and his family and Lyndsey feel. He was a mainstay of this BBS. And then my mate's dad died. My teacher at school. Another great guy. A teacher I talked to about Barnsley FC almost 40 years ago. And I saw him at games, and I saw his lad, and then later in life his lad became my friend and became another mainstay of this BBS. And then the Queen died. And I'm not a Royalist, but she'd already been Queen 20 years when I was born and I'm 50 years old, so she was just always there. And I dare say she wasn't perfect. But neither was Gaz, neither is Tyketical Masterstroke, or his dad, and I'm nowhere even close to perfect. But these people mean things to us. They touch our souls. So please, please, STFU.

Thank you Jay, I have said all I am going to say on this subject its like religion, we all have differing opinions I have made mine clear and will always do so, but I have to learn to respect others as long as they do not overstep the mark

It shows a massive lack of self awareness, to think anyone else is at all ****ing interested in their petty little catfights. This thread represents quite a significant event in our lives & the history of the country. There's nothing wrong with expressing different opinions, but if you're going to drag it out all day, please take it somewhere else..

BBS Posters: "Greedy oil companies, There's no need to take that much money from people, they will die over winter"

Also BBS Posters".... unless you were born into money which had been stolen from people, and you 'did your duty', in which case, don't say a bad word about them"

£28bn. Tax free. No inheretance tax. Zilch. Think about that when Charles gives the Kings Speech and folk are dying in the middle of winter. Stockholm syndrome is real.

Don't disappear again Mr C, I've allus looked forward to seeing your posts. Very thoughtful instead of a load of squabbling. This thread has been distasteful at times. Absolutely no need for it.
