    Glad the EFL didn’t try to steal all the glory and cancel and trusted the fans .

    Just so glad we aren't playing and we can all show some respect for the passing of the Queen. I was told I was being disrespectful for suggesting we should abolish the Monarchy a few hours after her death. In fact to one poster it was the most disrespectful thing they have ever read on this board and they have been on here since Jesus was a lad apparently.
    However I'm so glad no football is taking place, because that would be beyond the pale.

    I'm at Castleford Lock Lane enjoying a feisty RL Conference playoff game against Siddal.
    Theres no tannoy here but when the players lined up the ref blew and the ground fell into silence. After a minute he blew again and the silence turned to applause, again for a minute. Respect duly and unanimously paid.
    Thrn they started to kick the shi.t out of each other.

    My point was it's a completely ridiculous decision by the football governing bodies to call the games off. Indicative of a culture of being too scared to risk offending anyone.

    For the record even though I apologised if it did upset anyone I stand by everything I said and the timing of it. It's likely I will continue to caveat any discussion on the Royal family with my unwavering belief they should be abolished. I did however regret not pointing out earlier in that particular thread that I do actually have respect for a lot of the late Queens actions/inactions and the way she carried herself as I had in other threads.

    Anyway that's probably enough of that. Should be playing but aren't let's hope we can build on the excellent performance at Hillsborough whenever we do get going again.
