I only recently realised (having read an article) that the Scots never had Queen Elizabeth II. Because (obvious when we think about it) they never had the first Elizabeth as queen.

The article? about the inaccuracies in the programme Shetland, what you learn, and from where eh?

She'd also stated in her death protocol that a minute's silence, flags at half mast, national anthem, God save the Queen and black arm bands would have sufficed. This was backed up by the government.

The Queen was quite with the times and understood locking things up and closing things down wasn't how she wanted to be remembered. This was advocated by King Charles III. She loved the people.

What the F.A, Premier League, EFL and BHA has done isn't a mark of respect. It's exactly the opposite of what the monarch wanted. It's a disgrace and should be called out properly.

Don’t think there is a right or wrong TBH in a scenario like this.

Who said that he called them scum because they may have sung anti british songs. But rangers fans sing anti catholic songs every week. Both as bad. Religion should have no place in football plus the spls ***** every team bar celtic would struggle in the championship.

I think you are right - it is a close call as to what is right or what is wrong for playing football in these circumstances.

Had all other sports been off, then I doubt that there would have been any further debate.

It is sad however that this board has, by virtue of a sizeable section of posts, tended to highlight the increasing selfishness intolerance and polarisation of our society, in this case in their response to the death of a venerable monarch.

These postings don't mean that we all do not deserve the right to turn up today and try to keep quiet and clap and show respect. Perhaps everyone would have behaved appropriately.

To me though, reading some of the stuff on here, it seems better to make a small sacrifice and remember a completely unique life well lived.

Football administrators deserve credit for placing their sport at the forefront of tributes and remembrance for a remarkable person.

Have a read through their Twitter over the last two days. They’re scum of the highest order, the most vile club and supporters in Europe.

Stay away from twitter , I’m sure many thousands of sensible none scum Scottish football fans do. It’s a sounding board for folks that love the sound of their own bigotry. It’s not representative.

Imagine walking back from the pub at night along a dark lane. Rockley or somewhere. Out in the fields you can hear deranged voices shouting - ranting and raving. You’ve no idea who these people are. Scary stuff. That's Twitter.

Do you stop and have a listen? Or walk a bit quicker?

I hope you’re right. We will certainly see for sure at the next Celtic game. We all know what’s going to happen.
