Didn't hear either of you commenting when the drop in centre in Barnsley that used to provide hot meals closed for the entirity of Covid and hasn't opened to do the same since. But hey, one day.
That's because I didn't comment much on anything regarding the lock down on here, as it was far too divisive and conversations just went in roundabouts. For what its worth, id agree with you about it shutting down, I think the lockdowns and everything its entailed has caused far too much damage. But funerals and hospital appointments being shut down on short notice, even for one day, doesnt sit right with me.
I’m sick of this enforced grief. I don’t care that the queen is dead, it makes no difference to my life at all. Appointments, funerals etc cancelled is ridiculous for a woman who had 96 years of privileged existence courtesy of the taxpayer. The faux grief is the worst though. Cant understand people sobbing their eyes out over someone they’ve never met. Sorry if that’s “not showing respect”
I picked your post at random to reply to and in isolation there was nothing in it, it's just the incessant moaning on here for the days since the Queen died has got me down.
This isnt a good look - Charles Staff when he was a mere prince told most of them will lose their jobs as he is taking his mums staff now As for the timing - I am struggling to think how anyone could be so callous and cold https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...ing-church-service-for-queen?CMP=share_btn_tw
I agree that the timing is awful, but logically there is now one less senior royal to support. I guess the axe has to fall somewhere.
Seems to be individual trusts making the decision wether to stay open or not, Lincoln Hospital are keeping the appointments as an example. On a similar vein, there is a 1/2 marathon scheduled for Lincoln on Sunday, the Council threw it in chaos when they announced the start and end cant happen in a Council owned park as they won’t allow any sporting events on Sunday on property they own. The organisers have managed to move it to a School, but I find it odd the Council will allow road closures but not use of a Park.
With respect that's your opinion and many people would argue that you are wrong. I'am not bothered one way or another about the Royal family but i do agree that things should continue especially hospital appointments and funerals,i'am off to a funeral on Monday.
If its a nice weekend, thousands will flock to the beaches, countryside, ect ect, to get away from all the razzamataz on the telly, Funerals in Bridlington are going ahead on the 19th.
FAKE NEWS! Funerals are not cancelled on Monday 19th September. Some have been cancelled and rescheduled at the request of Bereaved families. Where possible undertakers are not rearranging further funerals for that day to meet requirements of their staff. Just listened to report on Radio 5 an undertaker stated ALL his planned funerals for that day will go ahead. Hope this lessens your outrage.
I imagine examples exist of all things. Im sure somewhere a Undertaker will have cancelled a funeral for Monday.
Day off and gives us a long weekend. Ta very much Queen. Will head off into hills or to the seaside to remember her.
For the very best/worst example of staged grief, have a look at Dan Wooton’s video of him laying flowers. It’s sickening. His private moment of reflection and grief…which luckily just so happened to be filmed, then shared to all his followers on social media. Vile right-wing populist scumbag, who has dedicated his recent life’s work to hounding Meghan Markle. Fk him and fk his staged grief.
