No doubt already another thread on this like, but hey. Got to say, I like the new post-match comms coming out from the Club. Tailored content for each match, feels more connected. Only a little touch, but like it. Nice work media team.
I also like that. On the flipside, I always liked listening to the club comms from ifollow put onto the match recap/highlights after. Noticed we've stopped doing that, was looking forward to listening to Matt Bailey and Co's reactions to the goals at Hillsborough.
If only they could improve on the interviews which sounds like they are conducted in the bog or a tin can, with someone bashing a keyboard or playing table tennis in the background and where you can only tell what question was asked by the responses given. I don't like having a go, but they really are poor quality audio wise.
It’s been like that for so many seasons though. One way only so, as you say, you have to guess the question.
We still usually overlay the goal commentary on that sort of video. But on that occasion, we felt the raw crowd noise at Hillsborough sounded better. The alternative angle video from last night will be on ifollow for 7pm. A good dozen or so minutes of the best chances etc, from our unique pitchside camera. The artist formerly known as Recap will be on there and social media about an hour later. Never as good when we haven’t won. But worth watching this one I think because there were some notable moments. When the ref wasn’t stealing the show.
The press conferences? They’re a complicated beast. Hence the issues being long standing and, the same at pretty much every club. You’d have to sit in on one to fully appreciate why they aren’t as simple as many like to assume. You’ve a Journo typing away as he’s got a deadline to hit, radio reporter with his own equipment using their own mics, journos on zoom. It’s organised chaos. Our one on one interviews are perfectly fine, as we have full control over them. The pressers are designed for the press/radio. Not many clubs release them to the fans. They’ll do their own separate one on ones. But I believe our fans would be upset if we stopped publishing them and went down that route. Because as club reps, we wouldn’t ever ask the sort of questions the fans would like, in times of strife. If you get what I mean. We publish the pressers as raw and transparent as possible. Hope this helps, but probably not!
Nice video of the players and staff's recent visit to the National Coal Mining Museum on iFollow at the moment too.
What's actually different about the post match Comms this season? I didn't pay much attention to them last season
Ta for that. Yes, there the ones. I had heard the West Stand bogs had a revamp so I thought you were making good use of them.
Well i got this email today which was a nice summary of the content created off the back of the game. Didn’t notice that before (sorry split across screenshots on my phone)
Tell you what is also good this season - the emails you get tipping you off that you are in a group of x who have enough loyalty points to guarantee a ticket to y game on day 1. Great idea - stops people interrupting their lives 9am on ticket release day and clogging up the system. I can leisurely log in lunchtime today and book my Fleetwood tkts for example. Simple but really good idea.
yeah that's what I was on about btw, I just couldn't be ar$ed sharing screenshots. the one to my lad started with 'Eyup Baxter', which he loved
