    ...has sadly passed away. Great broadcaster who managed to fill the void by the retirement of Bill McLaren. Also his double act with Brian Moore made watching even the most tedious game of rugby entertaining.

    That really is very sad. Eddie Butler was an absolutely first-class commentator and he will be much missed. Reading up about him he also seemed to be a first-class human being.

    Yes this is very sad news. Possibly the best commentator in all the sporting world. RIP.
