From that angle it’s difficult to be certain, he’s in front of the defender nearest him but is he not level with the ball and the right back? Look at the cut of the grass - all look about halfway into the paler cut. He might be off but not by much if he is, the angle is deceiving.
Look past their full back trying to block the cross, would have looked even worse in real time before the full back put his right leg on the ground. A lot on their board saying he was yards offside.
I have to agree with Troff and Mansfield Red . Looks level to me and certainly NOT "miles off"as some are saying.
Only if Blunketts dog had learned to use a lawn mower and then cut the grass at a strange angle relative to the goal line. Look at the grass pattern as Troff posted. I am sure you will change your mind. Linos get criticised for not keeping up with play since only a couple of yards behind play means judging offside is difficult and yet you are making a decision based on a camera view from the half way line. That said the evidence here is the grass cut pattern parallel to the goal line gives us a reference point. Freeze the video at the moment the ball is kicked.... IMO level or very marginally offside.
I"ve looked at it from all angles & have come to the conclusion that it is well offside & if it had been against us I would have been very annoyed ,however we are in the third division with third division officials & the standard like the football is not good , we have been on the wrong end of some shockers with the official against Port Vale being testament highlighting my point but we just have to get on with it & all the discussion is not going to alter any decision , we all have different opinions & so be it .
I suspect those saying it's miles off are just looking at the defender's position and disregarding the ball.
