Brilliant that. The bit where he said he wished he took a penalty and it was him who missed instead of the lads who took one and missed, so he'd shoulder the burden, what a teammate.
Good that, he's defo ( at a guess) had elocution lessons, lol I've been out of Yorkshire 35 years and am broader than old John boy, top lad all the same
Aye I'm sure a lot of elite-tier club players do these days mate, they all will speak to the media at some point
Watched another Man City interview with him and he was asked what he missed most about Barnsley and he said The Stadium.
The one with Kyle Walker is great too when Walker said Stones was born in Sheffield because he has an S postcode - John isn't impressed
I was at Rochdale and saw that goal. As I remember It wasn’t a proper header, it just hit his head and happened to bounce in! I didn’t know there was a tea cup celebrating it, I’ll have to get to the club shop. His debut I think was at the new New York Stadium (at half capacity) the game before, I remember saying to my mate at the time that ‘this lads not good enough’. Was soon eating my words with his brilliant overlapping full back play, and passing and movement, as the season progressed. Hasn’t he remained a real good lad despite the fame, fortune and trophies? A credit to the club and town.
No, pretty sure it was in the losing run under Little Lee early in the promotion season. Probably around October 2015?
I'll never forget the first time I saw him at Oakwell, I could see he was an outstanding talent - and he would be off to the Premier League sharpish....
