    That young lad won’t get his life back why should this scumbag. The justice system in this country is broken. He should be in for at least another 30 years.

    Shouldn't be released for me how can you attack a bloke in a unprovoked attack burying a pick in his skull and then flee the country and be released in less than 20 years its a joke.

    I never really knew what he was in prison for and just read it now. What an absolute *insert swear word*. I guess he’s being released as it wasn’t him that hit him, the other guy got an extra 10 years.

    I read it as the other bloke (his cousin) must serve 23 years and barton 18 so an extra 5. Still for me its far too soft now in there late 30s bartons brother will be able to carry on with his life.

    He was given 18 years, reduced down to 17. He was 17 at the time too. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but that might explain some reason why the sentence was less than 20 years.

    Shouldn't ever see light of day again. Our prisons should be more like abroad where they are shackled or in rat infested places or overcrowded cells. Any resemblance of normal life removed.

    Looking at the rates of violent crime and reoffending in Norway and The Netherlands would suggest that the complete opposite is true.
