Gutted. We used it for the first time back in May and vowed to start using it more often. Typical!

Probably correct. I notice they announced closure after the new M18 link road was built, which makes it more attractive to businesses.

Both the government and local council should state that under no circumstances will a change of use planning application be considered
but Peel know that the Tory goverment would never do that and a small donation should ensure all goes through for either warehousing or a new housing estate

******. Supposed to be flying from Donny in May. Guess I will have to wait for TUI to let me know what happens now.

I’ve been a regular flyer from LBA over the last three years (several times a year) and have always found it easy to travel through, in either direction. It’s a smallish airport and I’d rather use that than somewhere like Manchester.

Such a shame if DSA does go, as seems likely. For as long as it remained an airfield, with the last operational Vulcan housed there, the long gone RAF Finningley seemed to live on. This looks like the end now though. I had two tours at Finningley and it’s always been a special place for me.

Not the first time Peel have done this Sheffield city and Coventry belonged to them both closed and built on. Another business park no doubt.

LBA is a breeze compared to EM or Manchester

I imagine it would realistically have needed Jet2 or Ryanair to use it for it to be viable.

Always thought Doncaster would take off as an airport given it’s runway length enabling it to take long haul aircraft, real shame if they allow it to close , another example of Tory levelling the North as opposed to levelling up

There are so many industrial units in that area that it’s hard to see how more would fit in

LBA is just a bit of a pig to get to in comparison to say Donny, East Mids or Manc.

It's a shame Jet2 didn't see the opportunity to move their operation split over other airports and essentially own this one, something like that could have worked well.

Handy as it’s about 10 mins away from my house. Flown from there a few times and it’s fine, got a nice Burger King. It’s small but that’s nice in a way. It’s very high up so apparently can be affected by high winds and turbulence but I’ve never noticed.

If this is true and the final decision...I'm very angry....used it twice this year (just got back) sure it was voted best uk airport 3 years running.
Absolute disgrace, these owners have previous and its a shot in the arm for our governments "leveling up" exercise. I thought after the HS2 bebacle the powers that be would sort it.

Always thought it was amusing that there is a graveyard at one end of the LBA runway!
