One can only hope That they’ve given him this long is down to his name only Would have been better off keeping Dean Smith Doubt they’ll lure a top name tho
Can't see him managing Liverpool if he gets the sack from Villa. He's had money for players, they're just not gelling as a team. Have to say though, Arsenal have stuck with Arteta and it seems to be paying off. If Villa sack Gerrard he's not even done one full season , seems a bit premature.
I thought Villa played very well on Sunday & were extremely unlucky against Chelsea , the Chelsea keeper pulled off some worldies & on another day Villa could have scored 3 or 4 goals but the main thing was that despite losing their performance was very good & in my opinion Gerrard will turn it round .
Villa sounded me out about the job but I wasn't interested in talking to them whilst Gerrard was in situ as a mark of respect.
Villa fans say that's part of the problem though. They only seem to put a performance up against the 'big' boys. And majority of time still lose.
Possibly so ,but I can only comment on what I see & although they lost to Chelsea their performance was very good , Villa fans are no different to any others , when the knives are out they are out ,but as a neutral you view things as you see them .
They definitely deserved something didn't they, must admit felt a bit sorry for 'em. That first goal from the mistake from Mings was horrendous for the lad
They've been abysmal today this first half against Fulham so far. Their defending of corners is really bad, and they don't seem to be changing it!
Watched the first half and am now watching Leeds falling apart! Villa look fire though, toothless in front of goal!
Poor manager only got the 2 jobs he has had due to him been a great player. Won the two horse race in Scotland but mainly due to neil lennon been clueless. Been found out at villa.
Stopped watching villa match at about 39 minutes, couldn't believe how bad they were at defending set pieces. As you say, proper toothless up top, with loads of money spent on Watkins, ings, Bailey, coutinho and Buendia. Really don't think he has long left
Harvey Barnes playing great for Leicester. Can't see them being in the relegation zone for much longer.
I think that's a good point about Arteta, but it is a bit different if you're flirting with relegation. Dropping back to upper mid table and keeping faith for a few seasons in a head coach with a plan to get back to the top four is a lot more palatable than risking getting sucked into becoming a long term yo-yo team...
